Oppo Pad announced with SD 870, ColorOS for Pad and Pencil stylus

Alongside its three brand new Find X5 series smartphones, Oppo entered a new product category with its first Android tablet – the amply named Oppo Pad. It’s an 11-inch slate powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset and you can pick up an optional Oppo Pencil stylus to go along with it. The tablet brings a premium build with a metal frame and frosted glass back. It’s just is just 6.99mm thick and weighs 507 grams.

Oppo Pad features an 11-inch LTPS LCD with 2560 × 1600 px resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports HDR10 content and has symmetrical bezels with an 8MP selfie cam integrated into the side bezel. The back brings a rather flamboyant dual-tone finish with Oppo branding in huge letters near the 13MP rear camera. Oppo Pad is also outfitted with quad speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio certification.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 sits at the helm aided by 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage which is not expandable. You also get a decently sized 8,300 mAh battery with 33W fast charging and ColorOS for Pad interface which is based on ColorOS 12. The custom interface runs on top of Android 11. Oppo is bringing a multi-screen collaboration option for certain Oppo phones with quick file transfers and phone mirroring on the tablet screen.

The Oppo Pencil stylus supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and can attach to the tablet via magnets and charge witlessly with a full charge lasting you up to 13 hours. Oppo is also selling an optional keyboard case for CNY 399 ($63) while the Oppo Pencil stylus is priced at CNY 499 ($79).

Oppo Pad comes in black and purple colors as well as a limited Artist Edition which dons silver hues. The baseline 6/128GB trim will retail for CNY 2,299 ($363) while the top of the line 8/256GB model will go for CNY 2,999 ($474). Open sales in China start on March 3. International pricing and availability were not detailed yet.
