The newest entry into Nvidia’s GPU lineup is going to be the GTX 1630 according to VideoCardz. As a further addition to the 16 series, it will be a cut-down version of the 1650 model. A likely response to AMD’s Radeon entry into the cheap side of the market with the RX 6500 XT and RX 6400. With a much lower performance level but lower cost, it does appeal to a particular market.

The last addition to the xx30 was the GTX 730 or GT 1030 from 2014 and 207 respectively. Whilst the latest GTX card was the 1650 from three years ago in 2019. With the latest entry card being the RTX 3050 from January 2022, it is still $249 MSRP. But in a crazy market, it doesn’t always sell for that much and can be a lot for some entry-level consumers. So the GTX 1630 aims to replace the GTX 1050 Ti and likely cost less than $190 according to VideoCaradz.

Nvidia GTX 1630 specifications

According to VideoCardz, the GTX 1630 is based on the 12nm Turing TU117-150 GPU, which will be varied from the GTX 1650 TU117-300. Therefore, reducing the cores and memory bus from the older choice of a graphics card. It will feature 512 CUDA cores with a 64-bit memory bus. Although it does allow for a much higher GPU clock of up to 1,800 MHz. Which does keep the TDP at the same 75W.

The VRAM on the card is going to consist of the 4GB GDDR6 memory clocked at 12 Gbps. Maximizing the bandwidth to 96 GB/s, half of what the memory offers, but keeping up with the older model.

GTX 1630 release date

The new Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630 release date is supposedly May 31st, 2022. This new entry into the series will provide a great entryway for some budget gamers. And with the GPU market slowly stabilizing it should mean that the pricing should be very affordable. Even if the 4GB and low power of the card may not provide the best performance, there is potential to use FSR where supported to increase that performance. As the card is not RTX it is unlikely to support Nvidia’s own DLSS.
