Nubia Z40 Pro passes by 3C certification, It’s coming without charger

[ad_1]

Nubia’s gaming handle, Red Magic, has just unveiled a new gaming smartphone series yesterday. The flagship devices come with impressive specifications such as a physical fan ensuring the best possible performance out of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Now, the brand is preparing a duo of “standard” flagship smartphones under the Nubia Z40 series. The Nubia Z40 and Nubia Z40 Pro will be revealed on February 25 in China. Ahead of that, the company is teasing a few tidbits about them while they pass through certifications. Today, the Nubia Z40 Pro has passed by 3C certification which is an important step for a release in China.

It’s quite surprising to see the Nubia Z40 Pro passing by the 3C certification at this point. It’s common to see brands certifying smartphones a couple of months ahead of release. The Z40 Pro, on the other hand, is being certified one week before its launch. Perhaps, it’s just a late certification.

The flagship smartphone, which certainly is the most impressive of the duo, has passed through the certification process with model number NX701J. The certification website further reveals that Nubia will not be shipping the charging adapter. So, Nubia seems to be the latest company joining this very controversial trend started by Apple and promptly followed by Samsung and other smartphone makers. Although it’s disappointing, it’s inevitable, now that a company started this and keeps selling well, the others will follow is just a matter of time. The result is that if you want fast charging on your Nubia Z40 series smartphone, you’ll need to purchase a charger separately.

Nubia Z40 Pro alleged specifications

Apart from this, the 3C certification isn’t very revealing. Anyway, we already know what to expect from this device thanks to a couple of leaks and teasers revealed in the past week. For instance, the device will bring a curved AMOLED display with a centered punch-hole. Moreover, it will have a metal chassis with a glass back. There will be two simple colorways – Silver and Grey. The power button comes with a red accent which makes it easy to spot and also gives an appeal to the design.

Under the hood, the Nubia Z40 Pro will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with Adreno 730 GPU. The device will come with at least one variant with 16 GB of RAM. Moreover, it will run Android 12 straight out of the box.  The handset comes with a triple rear camera setup with an LED flash. The primary snapper has an f/1.6 aperture and supports Optical Image Stabilization straight out of the box.

The Nubia Z40 Pro’s battery has a 4,200 mAh capacity which is just “moderate” given to current standards. Despite this, it comes with an impressive 120 W fast charging. The problem? You’ll need to get a charger with that output separately, and that shouldn’t be the easiest or cheapest of the tasks. Nubia will probably sell the charger separately, which will sound like just another way to get extra income from this launch.

Nubia, just like the others, will use the excuse of “environment protection” to sell its device without a charger. An intriguing fact is that the Nubia Z40 is touted to come with magnetic wireless charging. If that is true, then the charger will likely be sold separately as well.
