In the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple packed everything including the kitchen sink. This year, there are no differences between the two Pro models apart from the display size and battery capacity. Of course, everything else that is underneath the hood, which you will also find in the “normal” iPhone 13 models, include the Apple A15 Bionic chipset with 5G support, FaceID, MagSafe support, and an IP68 certified chassis.
When it comes to mobile games, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max have a few extras up their sleeves: The GPU has been upgraded with the inclusion of an additional processing core. And the OLED screens now manage refresh rates of up to 120 Hz. iOS 15 will dynamically adjust the refresh rate depending on the displayed content to save battery. Speaking of battery life, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max’s battery life is said to have improved by 1.5 and 2.5 hours, respectively, compared to their respective predecessors.
The Pro models also offer more capability in terms of cameras. The most obvious here would be the additional telephoto lens, which now offers a triple optical zoom feature and has an optical image stabilizer on iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. Alongside this, though, there are also larger sensors on the main camera, which should further improve image quality especially in low light conditions. ProRAW support and a LiDAR sensor are also found only in the Pro models.
For the launch of the new iPhone 13 series on September 24, you can find a price comparison chart here, which shows you the cheapest deals for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. If you want to buy the smartphones, check back once again in due time.

On paper, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini are “small” iPhones. But in reality, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini hardly have to cower behind the Pro models. Equipped with the Apple A15 Bionic chipset, making them on par with the Pro series in terms of processing power, while the screens should be great to look at again thanks to HDR support, TrueTone, and OLED technology. Unlike the Pro models, however, the refresh rate is limited to jtsu 60 Hz which is positively archaic in this day and age.
Buyers of the non-Pro models have to do without the telephoto lens. On the other hand, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini come with the new Cinematic Mode, which allows video recordings to achieve better depth of field. The smartphone can either adjust the focus for you or you can adjust it yourself with a tap on the display. The focus point can even be set once recording begins.
As soon as the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini are available, we will show you a price comparison with the cheapest deals here.

Traditionally, Apple also offers older models at lower prices in addition to the current generation iPhones. In the US, you can still officially buy the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini from the iPhone 12 series at Apple, while saving some money along the way if you are OK with not having the latest and the greatest.
For the vast majority of users, the Apple A14 Bionic from last year should still offer enough processing power while having 5G support being another plus point for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. Last year’s models “only” offer 30 fps for 4K video recording, while the new Cinematic Mode is not available despite being updated to iOS 15.
But even if the two camera modules are a sensor generation older and rely on optical instead of mechanical image stabilization: iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini also offer great image quality and can keep up with most smartphones. You just have to make do without the telesensor.

The two new entry-level smartphones in Apple’s lineup right now are the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE (2020). Both smartphones come with the best SoC of its generation, the Apple A13 Bionic chipset. While this chipset might be a bit older than the newer ones, but it supports most of the new features of iOS 15, which leaves computing power as the main drawback. However, users who do not always play the latest games should still be able to manage well with the A13 Bionic SoC.
However, both the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE lack 5G support. The iPhone 11 has the same dual-camera setup as the newer iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models, and despite having older sensors, it offers a Night Mode including Deep Fusion. The iPhone SE has only a single 12-megapixel camera with no dedicated Night Mode.
As you can see in the price comparison to the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE (2020), you can even save quite a bit compared to Apple’s recommended retail price. With a little luck and patience, you can get the iPhone SE below the MSRP.

Even though the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have disappeared from Apple’s website, you can still buy the two smartphones on various online shops and retailers. With their features, the two Pro models are still competitive smartphones even in the fall of 2021.
In the coming weeks and months, we expect prices to fall as various vendors prepare to get rid of their existing inventory. So a look at the price comparison may be worthwhile in snagging a bargain.
iOS 15
In June 2021, we got a first look at iOS 15 during WWDC. This September 20, Apple will begin the official rollout of the final version of the mobile operating system. At first glance, it is primarily cosmetic changes. The Safari browser receives a facelift, notifications look different, and can be better managed with the help of the Focus feature. And of course, mindfulness is still a big issue.
However, there are more innovations in terms of security and privacy. Paying iCloud customers can jump aboard the “iCloud+” subscription at no extra charge and get all sorts of additional services, such as location and IP obfuscation Private Relay. And Siri no longer sends voice recordings around the globe, instead it processes requests locally on your device. Read more details about iOS 15 in the article below:
Next generation: iPhone 14
What’s next after the iPhone 13? Why, the iPhone 14, of course! Even before the launch of the iPhone 13, rumors about its successor have already begun to make its rounds. According to these rumors, the iPhone 14 will be available with a titanium case while ditching the notch and camera bump. That sounds like a more Pro version of the Pro model, of which we might even see a smartphone pass the $2,000 mark for the first time. After all, the out-of-the-box iPhone 13 Pro Max isn’t too far off at $1,599.
