Epic Games tends to give free cosmetics away in a variety of different ways. Sometimes you can get items from the shop for free, and it’s as simple as buying something from the Fortnite Item Shop without needing any V-Bucks. Other times, you might simply be granted a surprise gift when you login, usually as an apology for some downtime or other issue. Very rarely, however, you might need to go to the effort of actually redeeming a code. And that’s where this article is here to help.
How to redeem a Fortnite code
If you have a code for an item in Fortnite, you will need to enter it into the Epic Games redemption site. You’ll need a 20-digit code, so if that doesn’t match the code you have, it’s likely not a Fortnite redemption code.
Once you are on the Epic Games site, make sure you are logged in to the correct Epic Games account, ie. the one linked to your Fortnite account. If you don’t, you won’t be able to access the item in your Fortnite locker.
At the time of writing, the most recent redemption code was for the Doctor Who TARDIS Spray, for which the widely available code was JFCXK-HCJ5U-A2946-5DZBK. If you don’t have the Spray already, give this code a try as you might still be able to redeem it for the in-game Spray.
How to redeem V-Bucks or Outfit code in Fortnite
Similarly, if you have purchased or been gifted a Fortnite Gift Card, for a skin bundle or V-Bucks, for example, you’ll redeem your code in the same way. You’ll find the 20-digit code in the box, or on the card, which you will enter into the Epic Games redemption site. Again, you must make sure you are logged in to the same Epic Games account you use for Fortnite, as there’s no turning back once the code has been redeemed.
If you play on a console, as long as you’ve entered the code on the right account, then your items or V-Bucks will be available to you the next time you login to the game, just like on PC.
