Last Updated:

Weapons are a key part of how you take down certain enemies and bosses in Elden Ring. While you do increase your damage from stats, you’re much more likely to increase your damage output by using a decent weapon for the situation and making sure it’s upgraded. For instance, the Horn Bow in Elden Ring is a great weapon for taking down anyone who is weak to magic damage, such as the Cemetary Shade boss. This guide will show you exactly how to get your hands on this bow, and how powerful it can be.

How to find the Horn Bow in Elden Ring

Horn Bow in Elden Ring Item Corpse

The first thing you’re going to need to do is to get yourself to the Siofra River. The easiest path is from the northern tip of the Mistwood. Head straight south until you see a building in the shadow of the Minor Erdtree. Inside is a lift that will take you down to the ruins in the Siofra River. Activate the point of grace, then run up and around the ruins to the left to avoid most of the dangerous enemies. Ignore anything you see and keep running up the slope until you see a set of stairs leading to another building on your right.

Run up the stairs and into the lift. When you get out, get on Shadow and immediately run forward, dodging the attacks of the enemies waiting for you in this area. One of them is a giant Rune Bear which can make it a tough journey if you don’t watch your dodging properly. Once you round the corner, activate the point of grace, then head for the stairs with pillars opposite the point of grace. Drop down on the left side of the stairs to find a ledge. You can now jump across the gap ahead to find yourself on a ledge beneath the stairs. The Horn Bow is on a corpse on this ledge.

What is the Horn Bow Good for?

Horn Bow in Elden Ring Firing

As the description of the item hints, this is a magic bow that adds damage on top of any regular arrows that you fire with it. On top of that, if you have any arrows that already do magic damage, then firing from the bow will stack the effect and put out a high level of magical damage. This effect gets even stronger as you upgrade the bow, and you can upgrade it using regular smithing stones, so assuming you’ve been exploring dungeons a lot so far, you should be able to get it to at least +12 without much effort. At high levels, this bow will melt away the health of certain bosses, such as the aforementioned cemetery shade.
