Hooker Furnishings has appointed Douglas Estremadoyro as Senior Vice President of Business Transformation and Strategic Projects.

In his new role, Estremadoyro will be responsible for corporate-wide strategic planning—seeking synergies and increased speed across the company’s multiple divisions—as well as key transformational projects, including shoring up the company’s digital roadmap and the tactical and strategic integration of Sunset West. Estremadoyro will also focus on the implementation and execution of Hooker’s enterprise resource planning system (ERP), in addition to several other key corporate growth initiatives.

He will report to Tod Phelps, senior vice president of operations and chief information officer. “Douglas’ experience in corporate strategy, including his expertise in refining key initiatives, brings tremendous horsepower to our organization,” Phelps said. “Hooker Furnishings is looking to grow and expand business and he will be a key factor in our company’s continuous improvement.”

Most recently, he was vice president of business innovations at Four Hands, leading several organizational change and technology transformation projects. Prior to that position, Estremadoyro served as vice president of continuous improvement and business intelligence for HMi Group, a Hooker Furnishings brand.

Earlier in his career, Estremadoyro was director of supply chain operations at Pulaski Furniture Corp, a division of Home Meridian International. While there, he focused on product demand, planned production capacity, issued and controlled production, and monitored product delivery to warehouses and customer distribution centers.

Estremadoyro received his master’s degree in business administration from Virginia Tech, and a master’s degree in science engineering from the University of Alabama. He received his bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial and systems engineering. He is a certified Project Management Professional and Six Sigma Black Belt.
