Darvin Furniture & Mattress President Will Harris and Director of Sales Vicky Georgiadis have teamed up to create what has been a dynamic duo for Darvin. In a year where year-to-date sales are up 16%, Darvin’s outdoor sales this year have been a perfect example of their growing success.
Darvin Furniture & Mattress recently created a digital catalog, the Darvin Lookbook, to expand and showcase their 2022 Outdoor Furniture offerings and to make it even easier to buy online at www.Darvin.com. Adding in a backyard outdoor projector giveaway as an incentive for their outdoor furniture customers brought additional traffic to the Orland Park, Illinois, showroom.
“Our recent success with Outdoor Furniture sales has simply been an extension of the amazing year we are having at Darvin,” says Georgiadis, who has been with Darvin for more than 7 years. “We have a huge volume of outdoor furniture in stock.”
Darvin recently expanded the storage capacity of its Distribution Center (DC), which has allowed them to carry an even larger volume of furniture options in stock.
Darvin sales have increased in several areas where customers are clearly focused this year. “We are seeing a big increase in customers asking for deep-seating and upholstery for their outdoor furniture,” says Georgiadis. “We have seen dining set orders increasing and a distinct trend in outdoor furniture choices leaning toward a neutral palette. We also offer a great selection of accents, pillows, area rugs, and umbrellas at affordable prices.”
In addition to historically-best sales revenue numbers, the two have worked closely to attract some of the industry’s best talent. According to Harris, one of the primary attractions of working at the 102-year-old iconic Chicagoland business is the company’s employee-owned (ESOP) structure established in 2020.
“Our approach to creating a unique experience for our Darvin customers was established and maintained consistently over 100 years,” says Harris. “Today, we offer our employees a certain level of security knowing we have been doing this for a long time at a very high level and we are committed to getting better.”
Another component of Darvin Furniture & Mattress’ success has been the family-owned approach it has taken throughout its history, creating an environment where employees are provided support to achieve whatever their goals may be.
Georgiadis says a big part of her job is making sure the sales team stays informed and educated on the latest innovations and products while tending to what have been generations of customers at Darvin.
