According to a recent report, traces of Google’s foldable smartphone was spotted in Android 12L Beta2. There have been a couple of reports regarding a Google foldable smartphone, Google Pixel Fold. However, recent reports show that the Pixel foldable phone may be called Google Pixel Notepad. A recent leak shows that the body ratio of Google’s foldable smartphone is similar to that of Oppo Find N. Whether it is in the folded or unfolded state, Google’s foldable smartphone remains straight as the Oppo Find N.
In addition to the Google Pixel Notepad name, the price of this device will be lower than expected. According to reports, the Google Pixel Notepad may be priced at less than $1,799 thus will be cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3. According to reports, Google Pixel Notepad is limited and may only be listed in the United States at launch. Subsequently, the company will release this device in other countries and regions.
Google foldable smartphone with Tensor chip appears on GeekBench
According to reports, Google’s foldable smartphone (codename Pipit) appeared on GeekBench. As you should know, when a phone is spotted in benchmark platforms, it simply means the manufacturers are testing it. As for tech bloggers, it is a good place to learn about upcoming phones. The GeekBench screenshot shows that it will be powered by Google’s self-developed Tensor chip.
In terms of performance, in GeekBench 4, this device scored 4851 and 11442 scores in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. We can also see that the phone comes with 12GB of memory and runs Android 12.
Previous reports claim that Google’s foldable smartphone will use an LTPO OLED display. The handset will boast Samsung’s foldable display technology. The in-folding display will have a size of 7.6 inches. However, there are reports that Google has canceled its foldable smartphone development.
“DSCC has confirmed with its supply chain sources that Google has decided not to bring the pixel fold to market. Not in 2021 and reportedly not in the first half of 2022. Our sources indicated that Google believed the product wouldn’t be as competitive as it needed to be.”
Anyway, according to the latest leaks, the device may not come in a short period of time. Google has canceled component orders for the phone. Nevertheless, we still expect Google’s foldable smartphone in the future.
