Rosaria is a 4-star Cryo Polearm character who specialises as a Physical Main DPS or Cryo Burst Support, and is available on the Character Event Wish, Epitome Invocation and Wanderlust Invocation Standard Banners. Keep reading to find out what materials are needed to Ascend Rosaria, her best builds and an overview of how to use her effectively.
Rosaria Ascension Stat
All characters in Genshin Impact have a particular stat that levels up alongside their base stats. For Rosaria, this extra stat is ATK%, which will help her deal more DMG overall.
Rosaria Ascension Materials
Once you have obtained Rosaria and maxed her to Level 20, she can be further levelled up through Ascension. The materials you will need to Ascend Rosaria are as follows:
Level 20 | Shivada Jade Sliver x 1 Valberry x 3 Recruit’s Insignia x 3 |
Level 40 | Shivada Jade Fragment x 3 Hoarfrost Core x 2 Valberry x 10 Recruit’s Insignia x 15 |
Level 50 | Shivada Jade Fragment x 6 Hoarfrost Core x 4 Valberry x 20 Sergeant’s Insignia x 12 |
Level 60 | Shivada Jade Chunk x 3 Hoarfrost Core x 8 Valberry x 30 Sergeant’s Insignia x 18 |
Level 70 | Shivada Jade Chunk x 6 Hoarfrost Core x 12 Valberry x 45 Lieutenant’s Insignia x 12 |
Level 80 | Shivada Jade Gemstone x 6 Hoarfrost Core x 20 Valberry x 60 Lieutenant’s Insignia x 24 |
Shivada Jade Slivers, Fragments, Chunks and Gemstones can be obtained by defeating the Cryo Regisvine, located in Mondstadt, and the Cryo Hypostasis, located in Dragonspine.
Hoarfrost Cores can be obtained by defeating the Cryo Regisvine, located in Mondstadt.
Valberries can be found across Mondstadt. They are mainly located on Stormbearer Mountains.
Recruit’s Insignia, Sergeant’s Insignia and Lieutenant’s Insignia can be obtained by defeating Fatui Skirmishers, Agents, Electro Cicin Mages and Cryo Cicin Mages, which can be found all over Teyvat.
Rosaria Talent Materials
In order to make Rosaria stronger, you’ll need to upgrade her talents. The materials you will need are as follows:
- Recruit’s Insignia
- Sergeant’s Insignia
- Lieutenant’s Insignia
- Teachings of Ballad
- Guide to Ballad
- Philosophies of Ballad
- Shadow Of The Warrior
The Teachings, Guide and Philosophies of Ballad can be obtained by completing the Domain of Mastery: Realm of Slumber every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, the Shadow Of The Warrior is a potential drop from the Weekly Childe Boss.
Rosaria Best Weapons
Rosaria has a few different weapon choices depending on what build you’re aiming for:
Physical Main DPS
Primordial Jade-Winged Spear | 5-star |
Staff of Homa | 5-star |
Deathmatch | 4-star |
Blackcliff Pole | 4-star |
Crescent Spike | 4-star |
Dragonspine Spear | 4-star |
Cryo Burst Support
Engulfing Lightning | 5-star |
Skyward Spine | 5-star |
”The Catch” | 4-star |
Favonius Lance | 4-star |
Physical Rosaria can make good use of both Primordial Jade-Winged Spear and Staff of Homa, thanks to their CRIT Rate and DMG substats and high base ATK. But if you don’t have either of these 5-stars, she can work perfectly well with some 4-star Polearms. Deathmatch and Blackcliff Pole will also give Rosaria CRIT Rate and DMG to increase her DPS output, and she can even benefit from some craftable weapons: Crescent Pike, and in a pinch, Dragonspine Spear. Both have Physical DMG Bonus substats, although Crescent Pike is a better choice out of the two. This is because it has a more useful passive, which will give you more DMG overall. You can still use Dragonspine Spear on her if you want to, but Crescent Pike is the better option if you’re able to craft it.
Alternatively, a Cryo build favours weapons with Energy Recharge so Rosaria can use her Burst on cooldown, since this is how to applies Cryo best. Engulfing Lightning is a good option if you have it, as is Skyward Spine. “The Catch” is an amazing weapon she can also make good use of, and it’s F2P, too. Favonius Lance is also a solid option, since you’ll be able to generate Energy with your CRIT hits for either Rosaria or another party member.
Rosaria Best Artifacts
For a Physical build, 2-Piece Pale Flame with 2-Piece Bloodstained Chivalry is recommended. This combination will give you a total of 50% extra Physical DMG, which is a substantial amount. 4-Piece Pale Flame doesn’t work too well on her, since she isn’t able to stack up its passive all that well.
For a Cryo build, you have a few more options. 4-Piece Emblem of Severed Fates will give her Energy Recharge and boost her Burst’s DMG based on her overall Energy Recharge, which will give her a good amount of DMG. 2-Piece Blizzard Strayer and 2-Piece Noblesse Oblige will also give her a lot of DMG. Alternatively, if you don’t have a 4-Piece Noblesse Oblige user on your team, you can use it on Rosaria to good effect.
For low-level players, 4-Piece Martial Artist or 4-Piece Instructor work well until you’re able to get higher level Artifacts.
For your Artifact main stats, you will want to run:
Physical Main DPS
Sands | ATK% |
Goblet | Physical DMG Bonus |
Circlet | CRIT DMG / Rate |
Cryo Burst Support
Sands | ATK% / Energy Recharge |
Goblet | Cryo DMG Bonus |
Circlet | CRIT DMG / Rate |
In terms of Artifact substats, you’ll want to focus on ATK%, Energy Recharge, Elemental Mastery for a Cryo build and both CRIT DMG and Rate.
How to use Rosaria
Her Elemental Skill, Raveging Confession, swiftly shifts her position to appear behind her opponent, then stabs and slashed them with her polearm, dealing Cryo DMG. This ability cannot be used to travel behind opponents of a larger build.
Her Elemental Burst, Rites of Termination, swings her weapon to slash surrounding opponents; then, she summons a frigid Ice Lance that strikes the ground. Both actions deal Cryo DMG. While active, the Ice Lance periodically releases a blast of cold air, dealing Cryo DMG to surrounding opponents.
As a Physical Main DPS, Rosaria thrives on-field whilst using her quick Normal Attacks. Her Skill and Burst both serve to apply Cryo to nearby enemies, which gives you ample opportunity to proc Superconduct. Electro characters you can pair with Rosaria to do this include Fischl, the Raiden Shogun, Beidou, Yae or Lisa. You’ll also likely want to put a non-C6 Bennett on the team, Yun Jin for her Normal Attack buffs, Diona for shields, heals and Cryo Resonance, or an Anemo character like Sucrose or Kazuha for crowd control. You likely won’t want to use Venti, since his Burst will gather enemies slightly out of Rosaria’s range. You could also run Zhongli alongside Yun Jin for Geo Resonance. Additionally, since her Burst isn’t a huge source of her DMG, you don’t really need to worry about having a dedicated Cryo battery. All you need to do is set up your supports and go to town with Rosaria’s Normal Attacks!
Cryo Burst Support Rosaria, on the other hand, can slot into Physical teams, Freeze teams or Melt teams as a reliable Cryo applicator. For example, she can pair with Physical DPS characters like Razor and Fischl, Hydro characters like Ayato, Mona or Kokomi, or Pyro DPS characters like Hu Tao, Diluc or Klee. Her Skill doesn’t apply Cryo that well, but it will give her some Energy to help charge up her Burst, which is her main source of utility. Something else to keep in mind is one of her Ascension Passives: Shadow Samaritan. Casting Rites of Termination increases CRIT Rate of all nearby party members (except Rosaria herself) by 15% of Rosaria’s CRIT Rate by 10s. This will help your other characters’ CRITS be a little more consistent, so it’s well worth staking a lot of CRIT Rate on this Rosaria build. To play this build, simply swap in Rosaria to quickly use her Skill or Burst, before switching to your Main DPS to deal increased Reaction DMG.
