Qiqi is a 5-star Cryo Sword character who specialises as a Healer, and is available on the Character Event Wish and Wanderlust Invocation Standard Banners. Keep reading to find out what materials are needed to Ascend Qiqi, her best builds and an overview of how to use her effectively.
Qiqi Ascension Stat
All characters in Genshin Impact have a particular stat that levels up alongside their base stats. For Qiqi, this extra stat is Healing Bonus. This will allow her to heal her teammates more effectively.
Qiqi Ascension Materials
Once you have obtained Qiqi and maxed her to Level 20, she can be further levelled up through Ascension. The materials you will need to Ascend Qiqi are as follows:
Level 20 | Shivada Jade Sliver x 1 Violetgrass x 3 Divining Scroll x 3 |
Level 40 | Shivada Jade Fragment x 3 Hoarfrost Core x 2 Violetgrass x 10 Divining Scroll x 15 |
Level 50 | Shivada Jade Fragment x 6 Hoarfrost Core x 4 Violetgrass x 20 Sealed Scroll x 12 |
Level 60 | Shivada Jade Chunk x 3 Hoarfrost Core x 8 Violetgrass x 30 Sealed Scroll x 18 |
Level 70 | Shivada Jade Chunk x 6 Hoarfrost Core x 12 Violetgrass x 45 Forbidden Curse Scroll x 12 |
Level 80 | Shivada Jade Gemstone x 6 Hoarfrost Core x 20 Violetgrass x 60 Forbidden Curse Scroll x 24 |
Shivada Jade Slivers, Fragments, Chunks and Gemstones can be obtained by defeating the Cryo Regisvine, located in Mondstadt, and the Cryo Hypostasis, located in Dragonspine.
Hoarfrost Cores can be obtained by defeating the Cryo Regisvine, located in Mondstadt.
Violetgrass can be found growing off cliff faces in Liyue. They grow in abundance in Qingce Village, Huaguang Stone Forest and the mountains around Mingyun Village.
Divining Scrolls, Sealed Scrolls and Forbidden Curse Scrolls can be obtained by defeating Samachurls, which can be found wandering Inazuma.
Qiqi Talent Materials
In order to make Qiqi stronger, you’ll need to upgrade her talents. The materials you will need are as follows:
- Divining Scroll
- Sealed Scroll
- Forbidden Curse Scroll
- Teachings of Prosperity
- Guide to Prosperity
- Philosophies of Prosperity
- Tail Of Boreas
The Teachings, Guide and Philosophies of Prosperity can be obtained by completing the Domain of Mastery: Altar of Flames every Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Meanwhile, the Tail Of Boreas is a potential drop from the Weekly Wolf of the North Challenge.
Qiqi Best Weapons
Qiqi benefits most from weapons that either give her a high amount of ATK for her healing, or plenty of Energy Recharge to help keep her Burst up. Here are some suggestions:
Aquila Favonia | 5-star |
Skyward Blade | 5-star |
Sacrificial Sword | 4-star |
Favonius Sword | 4-star |
Festering Desire | 4-star |
Amenoma Kageuchi | 4-star |
Qiqi can make decent use of Aquila Favonia, thanks to its incredibly high Base ATK as well as its passive, which gives even more ATK%. This weapon works well as a stat stick, generally giving her a tonne of ATK for her healing to scale off of but not giving her much utility beyond that. Your other 5-star alternative is the Skyward Blade, which has a very respectable Base ATK and an Energy Recharge substat to help Qiqi keep her Burst charged up, which is an aspect she struggles with.
However, there’s a more accessible weapon that Qiqi can use to great effect: the Sacrificial Sword. It has a decent amount of Base ATK, and will give Qiqi a tonne of Energy Recharge to help with her Burst’s high Energy Cost. Its passive is also incredibly useful: at max Refinement, her Elemental Skill has an 80% chance to end its own CD. While her Skill doesn’t generate energy, it has a very long CD, which this weapon can help absolve. She can also use the Favonius Sword, which will help her to generate particles for either herself or another team member, and it also features an Energy Recharge substat. Alternatively, she can use a couple F2P friendly weapons: Festering Desire if you have it, as well as Amenoma Kageuchi which is craftable. Amenoma Kageuchi is particularly good for Qiqi, since it not only features a tonne of ATK, but its passive will also help her restore Energy, which is perfect for her Burst’s high Energy Cost.
Qiqi Best Artifacts
There are a couple different Artifact sets you can use on Qiqi, both of which give her extra utility that she otherwise doesn’t have. If you want to focus on her healing whilst also dealing extra DMG, 4-Piece Ocean-Hued Clam is a great choice. The in-game description is unnecessarily long-winded; so in summary, what it essentially does is create a bubble whenever you heal a party member, and the bubble will pop every 3s, dealing Physical DMG. The amount of DMG the popping bubble deals is dependent on the amount Qiqi heals – so the more you heal, the more DMG the bubble deals. Since Qiqi’s Skill will be in effect the majority of the time, and therefore she will be passively healing, you’ll be able to proc the bubble quite frequently. Also, since Qiqi tends to over-heal, you should be able to consistently cap the amount of DMG the bubble inflicts, or near enough.
Alternatively, if you want your Qiqi to buff your team as well as heal them, 4-Piece Tenacity Of The Millelith is a good choice. While the 2-Piece set effect doesn’t benefit her, the 4-Piece set effect will allow her Elemental Skill to buff your teammates’ ATK when it hits an opponent.
For low-level players, 4-Piece The Exile works well until you’re able to get higher level Artifacts.
For your Artifact main stats, you will want to run:
Sands | ATK% / Energy Recharge |
Goblet | ATK% |
Circlet | Healing Bonus / CRIT Rate |
You’ll only want to give Qiqi a CRIT Rate Circlet if she’s using the Favonius Sword. In terms of Artifact substats, you’ll want to focus on ATK%, Energy Recharge and both CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate.
How to use Qiqi
Her Elemental Skill, Adeptus Art: Herald of Frost, deals Cryo DMG to surrounding opponents. On hit, Qiqi’s Normal and Charged Attacks regenerate HP for your own party members and nearby teammates. Healing scales on Qiqi’s ATK. The Herald of Frost also periodically regenerates your active character’s HP and follows the character around, dealing Cryo DMG to opponents in their path.
Her Elemental Burst, Adeptus Art: Preserver of Fortune, marks nearby opponents with a Fortune-Preserving Talisman that deals Cryo DMG. When opponents affected by this Talisman take DMG, the character that dealt this DMG regenerates HP.
Since she’s a Healer, Qiqi can be slotted into almost any team where a Healer is needed. However, to get the most use out of her you could pair her with a Cryo DPS in order to activate Cryo Resonance. Cryo Resonance is great since it increases CRIT Rate against enemies that are Frozen or affected by Cryo by 15%, therefore your CRITs will be more consistent. With that in mind, you could slot Qiqi into teams that feature Ganyu, Ayaka, Eula, Kaeya or Rosaria, who can all fulfill Main DPS roles and inflict Cryo onto your opponents, which will proc Cryo Resonance’s effect.
Qiqi can work particularly well on a Physical team comp featuring Eula (or Kaeya or Rosaria if you prefer) and the Raiden Shogun, since Raiden will be able to restore Qiqi’s Energy with her Burst. Since Qiqi struggles to generate Energy for herself, having a battery that can help keep her Burst up is very beneficial; this will allow her to heal much more, more regularly. On top of that, she’ll activate Cryo Resonance for your Eula, so she’ll be able to deal more consistent CRIT DMG.
Overall, while Qiqi can heal your team effectively, she’s generally not the best Healer you could choose since she does lack some utility (which can be mitigated a bit by choosing the right Artifacts for her) on top of her Energy issues, and there are 4-star characters who can offer more to your team. That being said, if you want to use Qiqi, then by all means go for it! But if you’re looking for a more meta choice, characters like Diona, Bennett, Jean, Kokomi and even Barbara tend to outperform her.
