Last Updated:

Fischl is a 4-star Electro Bow character who specialises as an Electro Support / Sub-DPS or Physical Main DPS, and is available on the Character Event Wish, Epitome Invocation and Wanderlust Invocation Standard Banners. Keep reading to find out what materials are needed to Ascend Fischl, her best builds and an overview of how to use her effectively.

Fischl Ascension Stat

All characters in Genshin Impact have a particular stat that levels up alongside their base stats. For Fischl, this extra stat is ATK%. While not groundbreaking, this will help to increase her overall DMG.

Fischl Ascension Materials

Once you have obtained Fischl and maxed her to Level 20, she can be further levelled up through Ascension. The materials you will need to Ascend Fischl are as follows:

Level 80

  • Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone x 6

Vajrada Amethyst Slivers, Fragments, Chunks and Gemstones can be obtained by defeating Electro Hypostasis, located in Mondstadt, and the Thunder Manifistation, located in Inazuma.

Lightning Prisms can be obtained by defeating the Electro Hypostasis, located in Mondstadt.

Small Lamp Grass can be found across Mondstadt. They are mainly located in Wolvendom, Whispering Woods and the area between Windrise and Dragonspine.

Firm Arrowhead, Sharp Arrowhead and Weathered Arrowhead can be obtained by defeating Ranged Hilichurls, which can be found all over Teyvat.

Fischl Talent Materials

In order to make Fischl stronger, you’ll need to upgrade her talents. The materials you will need are as follows:

  • Firm Arrowhead
  • Sharp Arrowhead
  • Weathered Arrowhead
  • Teachings of Ballad
  • Guide to Ballad
  • Philosophies of Ballad
  • Spirit Locket of Boreas

The Teachings, Guide and Philosophies of Ballad can be obtained by completing the Domain of Mastery: Realm of Slumber every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, the Spirit Locket of Boreas is a potential drop from the Weekly Boss Wolf of the North.

Fischl Best Weapons

Depending on what kind of build you’re looking to use, Fischl has a few good weapon options:

Electro Support / Sub-DPS:

Physical DPS:

  • Thundering Pulse (5*)
  • Skyward Harp (5*)
  • Polar Star (5*)
  • Mitternachts Waltz (4*)
  • Compound Bow (4*)
  • Hamayumi (4*)
  • Rust (4*)
  • The Viridescent Hunt (4*)

Electro Fischl’s best in slot is either Skyward Harp or Elegy For The End, depending if you’re using her more as a Sub-DPS or Support. Skyward Harp is amazing for its high base ATK and the CRIT stats it bestows, whereas Elegy For The End will grant your team various buffs to increase their DMG. Polar Star can also work on her, although she won’t be able to proc all the passives since she won’t be on-field much.

There are plenty of good 4-star weapons for Electro Fischl, too. The Stringless will give her some Elemental Mastery which can be nice, and at high Refinement it massively increases her Elemental Skill and Burst DMG – which is what you’ll be using her for. If you have it and don’t have any other good Bows, Windblume Ode can be nice on her; after defeating an appoonent, her ATK increases for 30s. Alley Hunter is also very good on her as it will increase Fischl’s DMG while she is off-field, which will be the majority of the time. Finally, if you’re in need of some CRIT Rate, look no further than The Viridescent Hunt.

Physical Fischl can make use of some of the same weapons, but not many. Instead, her new best in slot becomes Thundering Fury, as she’ll easily be able to proc its passive and get the most out of it, on top of its high Base ATK and massive CRIT DMG stat. Skyward Harp is still and solid option, and she’ll also be able to get more use out of Polar Star with this build.

She also has many 4-star options with a Physical build. Mitternachts Waltz was literally designed after her, and its passive will boost both her Elemental Skill and Normal Attacks, as well as grant her a hefty Physical DMG Bonus. The craftable Compound Bow will give her an even larger Physical DMG Bonus, and also increases her Normal ATK SPD – this weapon is often used in “Machine Gun” Fischl builds. Another craftable Bow she can make use of is Hamayumi, thanks to the high amount of ATK% it gives her as well as its passive, which increases her Normal Attack DMG. Rust also works very nicely on her; similarly to Hamayumi, it gives her a lot of ATK% and boosts her Normal Attack DMG, although it gives a higher boost than Hamayumi does. Finally, The Viridescent Hunt is once again a good option if you’re lacking in CRIT Rate.

Fischl Best Artifacts

Fischl has a couple different Artifact sets that work very well for her. For Electro Sub-DPS / Support Fischl, your best option is 2-Piece Thundering Fury and 2-Piece Gladiator’s Finale / Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, which will help to increase both her Electro DMG and overall ATK. She actually can’t make use of 4-Piece Thundering Fury that much, since the 4-Piece passive only works if Fischl is on-field, which she usually won’t be.

For a Physical Fischl, 4-Piece Pale Flame is her best set. She’s able to keep up the 4-Piece passive thanks to her Skill, which hits multiple times during its duration. 2-Piece Pale Flame and 2-Piece Bloodstained Chivalry is also a great option if you don’t have a good 4-Piece set of Pale Flame.

For low-level players, 2-Piece Berserker and 2-Piece Martial Artist or 4-Piece Martial Artist work well until you’re able to get higher level Artifacts.

For your Artifact main stats, you will want to run:

  • ATK% Sands
  • Electro / Physical DMG Bonus Goblet
  • CRIT DMG / Rate Circlet

In terms of Artifact substats, you’ll want to focus on ATK%, Energy Recharge, some Elemental Mastery, and both CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate.

How to Use Fischl

Her Elemental Skill, Nightrider, summons Oz. Oz deals Electro DMG in a small AoE, and for the ability’s duration, Oz will continuously attack nearby enemies. You can press again any time during the ability’s duration to once again summon him to Fischl’s side.

Her Elemental Burst, Midnight Phantasmagoria, summons Oz. However, Fischl takes on Oz’s form, greatly increasing her Movement Speed. She strikes nearby enemies with lightning, dealing Electro DMG to enemies she comes into contact with. Each enemy can only be struck once. Once this ability’s effects end, Oz will remain on the battlefield and attack nearby enemies. If Oz is already on the field when her Burst is cast, then this will reset the duration of his presence.

Sub-DPS / Support Fischl will generally be off-field the majority of the time, since Oz lingers for a while after she casts her Skill. Instead, you’ll only bring her on-field to use her Skill and Burst, then switch to another character. She works great alongside Cryo-Physical DPS characters as she can help them activate Superconduct to decrease your opponents’ Physical RES. Potential characters you could use to fill this role are Eula, Kaeya or Rosaria. Fischl can also work well as an Electro Battery alongside an Electro DPS, such as Yae or even Raiden, or in a taser (Electro-Charged) team alongside characters such as Xingqiu, Kokomi, Tartaglia or Mona.

On the other hand, Physical DPS Fischl will be on-field the majority of the time, and you’ll only be switching to your supports briefly for their Skills and Bursts. She works best when paired with a Cryo Sub-DPS / Support who can proc Superconduct with her. Some characters you could use are Kaeya, Rosaria, Diona or Qiqi. She also benefits from the support of Bennett’s Burst, as long as you don’t have his C6 activated as this will override her Normal Attacks with Pyro, which is less than ideal for a Physical character.
