The Winged Scythe is a great weapon for faith-based melee builds, especially when it comes to dealing holy damage. If you find yourself running up against a brick wall when it comes to those annoying, reviving skeletons, then this could be just the weapon hat you’re looking for. This Elden Ring Winged Scythe location guide will show exactly where this particular item is hiding, and what you’ll need to do to get there.
Winged Scythe location
This particular weapon is hidden away underground in the Tombsward Ruins. If you want to get your hands on it, you’ll first need access to the Weeping Peninsula. If you have the Church of Pilgrimage point of grace unlocked, just warp there then head southwest until you come across some ruins inhabited by rats. If you don’t have that particular point of grace, you’ll have to go the long way around.
Enter the Weeping Peninsula from the bridge of sacrifice and follow the road until you come to the point where the road splits. At that point, you can basically turn back on yourself and follow a different road back towards the north that curves westward. Follow this new road across a wooden bridge and you should see the church ahead of you. Go and activate the point of grace, then head southwest and you should easily come across the ruins.
How to get the Winged Scythe
Once you’ve arrived at the ruins, you’ve got a bit of a fight on your hands. Kill off the rats above ground to make sure they don’t trouble you too much, then locate the stairs that head down at the northwest tip of the ruins. Before you get too far down the stairs, you might want to summon your best ash summons, because inside you’ll find a pair of those hunter enemies that shoot exploding crossbow bolts. Neither of them is overly strong, but they hit hard.
Once they’re both taken down, open the door at the back of the room. Inside is a chest that contains the item that you’re looking for. Now that you have your hands on the weapon you can enjoy the benefits of its unique weapon art and high holy damage output as well.
