With the ARRI Approved Certified Pre-Owned program, the company has been trying to make their technology accessible to a wider audience. Now this family of pre-owned products is growing with the addition of lighting fixtures. Let’s take a look at the current deals.
ARRI Approved Certified Pre-Owned Program: a good deal for film institutes
The ARRI Approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Program includes a series of second-hand cameras, lenses, accessories, and now lights, that get refurbished directly by the manufacturer. These items then become available to the public at a discounted price.
The CPO program represents the first step for production and rental houses that are trying to approach this otherwise out-of-reach brand. Moreover, ARRI is trying to target filmmaking schools. ARRI Approved Certified Pre-Owned Program: refurbishing and testing procedures
Lighting fixtures belonging to this program are pre-owned products that undergo a strict refurbishing and testing procedure. After that, they go back to a fully functional status.
ARRI is well-known for producing solid, reliable tools that can last a lifetime. Hence, they want to live up to their reputation by offering the same treatment to their refurbished products.
For this reason, ARRI technicians will inspect the fixture and proceed with the replacement of any damaged, defective or threadbare component, being it mechanical, electrical, or electronic.
Furthermore, the refurbishing process is followed by a series of final function tests to make sure that the product performs as expected. All tests are carried out using the latest available firmware.
Two-year warranty
Each lighting fixture that passes the final exam with full marks receives ARRI’s stamp of approval. In addition to that, the manufacturer offers a two-year warranty on their refurbished lighting fixtures. This differs from the treatment received by other CPO products, which usually only benefit from a one-year warranty.
Price and availability
Some lighting fixtures belonging to the ARRI Approved Certified Pre-Owned program are already available on the manufacturer’s website. However, the lighting program will only arrive in the US at a later date.
