Great way to use the radio in a vehicle and not use up the radio battery. The cord is a bit short, so you really need to be in the vehicle to use this product. Radio performance is better if you are outside the vehicle, so there’s a bit of a tradeoff. This product does reduce the voltage from 12V down to the required 7.5.

We have home hubs for our walkie talkies but when we go camping we don’t bring no them since they stay home. This car adapter is great. Plug in and out easy and can fit nicely in the middle console when not in use. Quality it good enough.

Have not had a chance to test if this gives the amps needed to transmit at the UV-5R’s full power.but it does work for receiving.Found it to be a tighter fit than the Batteries that came with my UV-5R which is odd since it looks to be made from a “Authentic” Baofeng BL-5 battery shell. Might have to give it a little force to “CLICK” into the radio.

I just keep this in the glove box and when ever the battery’s are dead from a long night, I simply poke this on, and finish the night out.. works great.. you are just tied to the vehicle though…

bought three of these … i think their great for the money … i only listen to radio stations … but i do occasionally press to talk … did so on my BAOFENG BF-F8HP and the transmit power was on high … then saw it wasn’t working anymore … unscrewed the tip and found a blown fuse … F1AL250V … searched and see can buy a F2AL250V fuse … will try … the one stands for one amp the 2 is 2 amps … goes up to 15 amps … read all reviews … IF YOUR GOING TO ACTUALLY USE THIS LIKE ” PROFESSIONALLY ” YOU SHOULD BUY THE $30 ONE …
