Original Skin Gal –
I always get good quality printing results from HP 61 ink cartridge’s. I find that they are easy to install as well.

Tried to use cheaper brand, but didn’t work out well. Off brand didn’t last very long. Will stay with HP products, get your money’s worth

This ink, when used with our wonderful HP Envy printer is very cost effective and renders beautiful photo prints, which dry very quickly. Can’t say enough great things about this product.ONE BIG WARNING: HP will strongly market you to buy into their Instant Ink program. With their program, you select a tier of usage, then pay a monthly fee that buys you automatic shipment of replacement cartridges, when your ink runs low. Sound good? We thought so too. Here are our issues:1. Ink for this printer is very reasonable on Amazon – currently, (on July 24, 2015,) it’s $17 for the three color unit, and $14 for the black one.2. We bought into the HP lowest tier Instant Ink program, which was $2.99 a month. That’s $36 (plus tax) a year for UP TO 50 pages a month, plus any unused pages from previous months, (up to another 50 pages a month, if you have that many currently unused.)3. The availability of those roll-over pages seem to fade away, if unneeded for several months. By my count we averaged 17 pages a month, which should have left us over 300 pages after our year of usage. Yet our account shows only 13 pages of rollover, and we only went over 50 pages on one month.4. The math – In 13 months of Instant Ink payments ($39 plus tax,) we went through one color instant ink cartridge, and about 1/3 of a black instant ink cartridge. So for $39, we consumed less than $21 worth of HP cartridges, if they had been purchased on Amazon. What a deal, huh?5. We just got the second color Instant ink cartridge, which we just installed, but has been turned off as of July 30, as was the two thirds full black cartridge.6. So for our usage level, it wasn’t worth it and we cancelled our subscription in late July. We got an e-mail that said at the end of July, our new Instant Ink cartridge that we have been paying for each month, would quit working, because we cancelled. Not only that but the day they turned it off – July 30th, they billed us for a “final” payment! (There is online intelligence between the printer and the cartridge that only allows the Instant Ink unit to work with your registered printer, and only so long as you keep paying HP the monthly fee.)To be fair, if your usage level approaches HP’s tier usage levels, you will save money using their service. But since you can sign up at any time, our advice would be to wait until you have 10% left in the original cartridges, (print the status report,) and see if your usage and their cost vs. Amazon’s cartridge prices makes sense for you. It certainly has not for us.Also be warned – if you go over your usage + rollover pages, you will pay $1 for every additional 15 pages. Or you can pay even more each month for the next higher tier.In summary, these ink cartridges are the best, most cost-effective we have ever owned, but HP’s Instant Ink offer is not necessarily a good deal for low usage owners.

These are legitimate OEM printer cartridges that work perfectly in my Deskjet 3052A. Simple pop out, pop in replacement. There are high capacity cartridges that will last longer and provide more printed pages, but I don’t print enough to need them, sometimes rarely-used cartridges can clog even if there is still plenty of ink left. So I prefer to stick with these smaller ones to save a little money and waste less ink.
