This lightweight backpack tether is perfect for conditions that demand hands-free attention. The durable nylon harness wrap with hook-n-loop attachment can accommodate any style of strap with widths up to 3.75” and is Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment (MOLLE) compatible.
The same hook-n-loop material also is used to easily stow your compatible Garmin device for optimal GPS performance while still providing access at a moment’s notice. When the device is detached from the hook-n-loop, the spine mount and lanyard cord – adjustable in length from 2″ to 14″ – ensure the device will stay with you at all times.

I have no idea where some of these prior negative reviews are coming from. This thing is great. The velcro is super strong and yes, over time I am sure it will start to have less of a grip, but hey, that’s velcro! If you take it on and off that much and use it that much, just buy another one once you wear out the velcro. Duh. The velcro straps that go around a day pack strap are long enough to go all the way around and get a full strip of velcro so there is no risk of it falling off. The only thing I did not like is that on my daypack this makes my GPS unit sit really high, so if I look to my right and down, my chin touches the unit. Also, I noticed that if I am geocaching and looking around in rocks I need to be very careful about getting down flat because the unit can hit the rocks. Other than that, this attachment device is great! The lanyard is not of “poor” material and actually seems to be pretty good. Yes, it would be better to replace the lanyard with 550 paracord material, but again…you could do that. I will probably do that once their lanyard wears out or worries me at all. Also, there were some reviews about not being able to remove the clip easily…not the case….super easy, no issues, and once it is back on you get an audible click and it is solidly in place. To remove you simply pull up the bottom and it releases the attachment and comes right off. Overall, I would purchase this again for sure.

This retainer clips on to the spine adapter. The InReach Mini includes a spine adapter in the box. Maybe you lost it, but it left the factory with one in the box.The InReach Mini2 does NOT include a spine adapter, and you’ll need to buy it separately. It comes in a kit with a couple of other parts. The Garmin part number for the kit is 010-12723-00.

I was looking for something like this to mount on my hunting pack and hold my eTrex 10. I couldn’t find any reviews that confirmed it would fit that model so I ordered it with nothing but a lot of hope. After I oriented it the right way up, the mounting piece on the back of the GPS slid in perfectly. After confirming this, it seems that Garmin makes the mounting piece universal. Good to know and smart idea by Garmin! Love it.

I use this for my Garmin GPSMAP 67 and Alpha 100 dog tracking GPS equipment for upland bird hunting. Very handy to locate those devices where convenient.

Prior to purchasing this I had to carry, stuff in a pocket, or attach my eTrex to a lanyard. In all cases, it was less than ideal. Now, I can just pull the eTrex off my pack strap, make sure I’m still on target, and quickly re-attach to the pack strap. Really nice.The only “downside” if you can call it that is the cord can get caught in the velcro. Easy enough to remedy.

used this on a backpack out 20 miles recently. no issues, works well. Alps Z external frame pack. Put on chest strap.

Worked perfect. A bit hard to unclip but that’s probably a good thing so I don’t drop my inReach mini.
