I highly recommend this MAGPCUP model for its quality, unique feature set, and industry leading 3-year warranty. (I love this. Who gives you that, anymore, for small devices like this?) And they have a customer service dept that aims to please.I’m now two years into my ownership and constant use of the MAGPCUP in a Ford E350 van with lots of vibration, dust and moisture. It offers a unique feature set and form factor, which is why, I guess, they raised the price by $10 in the two years since my purchase in early 2020. I’m extremely happy with this product, even at what I considered a high price of $30, but I balked at its $40 price when I sought to replace it a month ago. Happily, this item was built to be repaired and maintained. The company was able to supply me, under warranty, the missing parts I required to get my original mount charging again – hence my happiness.I have encountered two minor issues (discussed at the bottom of this review) which seem somewhat at odds with the generally excellent design and manufacture. Otherwise, I detail below the many qualities I value in this charging phone mount.Purchased in Feb 2020. For two years, I’ve been using this MAGPCUP in my Ford E350 center console, which has funny-sized and shaped cut-outs and only two smallish cupholders, neither available for this device. The tri-footed mechanism for gripping the interior of any size cup-holder was enough for me to situate it in an oddly shaped cut-out, in a particular way as to establish firm placement. Bravo. Furthermore, this item never vibrates loose on its own, unlike anything else in this vehicle. This item has survived a lot of dust and moisture (though never moisture while charging). Even the magnetic mount, with it’s fancy grippy rubbery surface, has survived two years looking new after I recently wiped it. Rubber surfaces often fail and become sticky or come off in pieces, well before a useful item is ready to return. Glad to see this Scosche model looks as good as new after two years.Summary:- Unique: MAGPCUP model seems to be unique. I could not find another cup-holder base, hi-neck magnetic phone mount, with two 12V charging ports, anywhere online. Literally no other form factor would suit my needs nearly as effectively and efficiently in my space. The rest of the highlights I list below are also largely unique and hard to find in this product space.- Dual 12V Power Expansion: I’m a charging device snob, and want to use my own power adapters (in this case, 12V USB car chargers) to charge my expensive devices. Hence, rather than plug my devices directly into the USB power ports on the Scosche MAGPCUP, my passenger and I each have a dual USB port car charger for our devices, plugged into the two 12V ports on the MAGPCUP, in the center console, a location convenient to both of us. This is far better than relying on just my one 12V port, near the driver, with no such power source anywhere near my passenger. [I have no reason to believe that MAGPCUP’s USB charging isn’t up to snuff, but since it’s not their primary business, I prefer using my own USB car chargers with safety features and brand reputation that meet my needs.]- Space-Saving Multi-functional: I need the space-saving feature of having “dual power extensions” provided in the same console space as my high-rise magnetic phone mount.- Hi-rise Neck: The tall mount is a necessity in my tall van, so I don’t have to look too far down, away from the road, to see the GPS on my phone.- Strong Magnet: for a regular size phone (6” diagonal). I do a lot of bumpy terrain that gets everything vibrating in the van and my phone (in Otterbox Symmetry case) stays in place on the magnetic mount very well, but my phone’s not very big.- Longevity & Quality: Although the black Scosche metal plate (that I adhered to the back of my phone case) lost much of its paint over the past two years, and looks really ugly, the rest of the MAGPCUP looks as good as new, after the dust is wiped off. Even the grippy rubbery surface of the magnet mount looks brand new, which seems quality to me because rubbery surfaces often disintegrate too soon (esp in Florida heat).- Highly Functional Design: The tri-foot extension mechanism can grib an odd shaped space pretty well. It never comes loose over time (despite my high-vibration ride), even as I twist the upper part of the MAGPCUP to point the magnetic mount at a more convenient angle. The 12V ports on either side of the hi-neck mount are super-convenient for charging access by two people.- Safety Features: I don’t know how to assess Scosche’s electronics, except that they’re a reputable brand so they’re probably using industry standard safety practices in their charging devices. I HAVE noticed the nice large user-accessible fuse in the 12V charger piece. Good to know a surge or spike won’t hurt anything across that boundary. I did actually overdraw charge on this unit once (with a high speed PP/PPS car charge providing juice to a hungry samsung tablet), and it “shut off” so no more power went through. I forgot what I did to revive things, but I believed it just worked again, once I’d removed the offending power draws. I did not need to replace the fuse, so I’m not sure what part “tripped”and most astounding …- Replaceable Fuse: There’s a metal screw ring at the tip of the 12V charger (the part you stick in your car’s 12V port). By unscrewing this, the tip will come off and you’ll find a fuse and a copper spring inside. I’m so impressed that Scosche wanted this quality product to be field serviceable for something that might reasonably go wrong, without killing the MAGPCUP electronics completely.- Excellent Customer Support & Warranty: I recently emailed Scosche customer service (per their web page on warranty claims) to request replacement of the four tiny parts (fuse, spring, metal ring, etc) which got lost when, once again, the metal ring came off the end of the 12V charger, without me detecting it. Jeremy at Scosche customer service was extremely responsive and will be mailing me replacement parts. He also provided a form/procedure for requesting a new cable, if I determined that would better address my problem,Minor Issues:- Easily loosened metal screw ring at tip of 12V charger leads to lost parts: Sadly, my enthusiasm about a user-replacable fuse only came after the 2nd or 3rd time the metal screw ring came undone by itself, leaving four tiny parts dispersed across the area well before I realized I had a problem. In all but the most recent case I was able to find the parts and get it working again. This time, I had to ask the company to replace the lost parts, which they speedily handled.- DC Cable plug won’t come out. I can’t seem to remove the curly power cable from the MAGPCUP unit. Last time it was a struggle, and it seems a plastic ring on the DC jack was hanging up on the interior of the DC power input port. Now, I can’t unplug that jack (to detach the power cable) at all. It won’t come out, and I’m afraid to pull any harder for fear of breaking something.- Tiny “power available” lights (on 12V charger/adapter and on the MAGPCUP unit itself) presumably are responsible for a parasitic drain. Since my sole driver’s area 12V port provides always-on power (even when the engine is turned off and key removed), I need to unplug the MAGPCUP every time I leave the car, so I don’t accidently drain the battery. The power lights are a nice feature sometimes, but I wish I could disable any parasitic drains related to this MAGPCUP, so I wouldn’t have to unplug it every single time.

I finally decided to add a phone mount in my truck after avoiding them for many years. I got my first Scosche unit at a big box retailer. It worked like a charm for my iPhone 5S in a Ballistic case. I put the magnet inside the case without even sticking it using the tape. The mount attached to my dash easily and stayed there no problem with the double back tape pre-installed on the mount. Using this made driving much safer and kept my eyes up about dash level even when answering incoming calls or looking at the GPS. Later, I bought a second one here at Amazon for my iPhone 6+ in a Ballistic case. I did the same setup as before, bu I used the larger magnet provided inside the case because it’s a heavier/larger phone. I had two problems that do not deter me from giving this a 5-star rating, but I want to share to help others out:1) While the Ballistic case for my iPhone 6+ is thin, it’s not *as* thin as the one I had on my iPhone 5S so the magnet doesn’t work as well. Big bumps or rutted dirt roads will shake the phone right off the mount and it will fall. The 6+ is heavier and larger so maybe that’s the issue, but I think it’s the case. I have considered putting the magnet on the outside of the case. That said, this system works like a charm and i do like the magnet vs. other systems I’ve seen2) The tape that holds the mount on the dash completely failed me when I tried to mount this to my van dash. The first one I purchased mounted perfectly on a very smooth surface in my Nissan Frontier, but in a Chevy cargo van, the slightly textured dash didn’t hold the stickiness and it just fell off. I went out and bought some super-duty double back tape at Home Depot and that didn’t work either. In the end, I need GPS for my business so I just peeled off all the residue on the mount and super-glued it to the dashboard of the van. Be aware that the tape provided will not stick effectively to a textured surface.Bottom line, the ease of just slapping the phone right up on the mount (sometimes without even having to look) and being able to grab it off with ease, makes for a super-great car mount. I don’t plan to use anything else.

I cannot begin to explain my love for this product. I have an iPhone 6S+, This screen protector , This case , and this stick-on wallet with 4 credit cards. Needless to say, my phone is fairly heavy. So, you can imagine my excitement when I found this mount that can actually hold my device. What I ended up doing just to be sure it would stay perfectly was putting the larger metal plate it includes INSIDE the case, between the back of the phone and the case. Then I ended up sticking the smaller plate (because I believe it was more attracted to the magnets, and it was better looking) directly to the back of the case. This combination ended up holding my phone PERFECTLY. Actually, a little too perfectly. Because of the texture on the back of my case, the adhesive had a bit of trouble adhering properly. I would end up peeling the case away from the metal plate rather than taking the metal plate with me. This really wasn’t a huge deal, I ended up simply taking a bit of Krazy Glue and simply gluing the smaller plate onto the back of my case. Now it holds perfectly. The suction cup holds perfect to any glass/plastic surface. I have used it both in my car and on my bathroom mirror. It doesn’t fall down and is sturdy while maintaining a sleek look. The gooseneck is AMAZING! I was worried about moving it when trying to touch the screen, but that is NOT an issue. It is really sturdy and keeps the phone exactly where you adjusted it.Overall, I am loving this thing, and it is probably one of my favorite purchases in a while.

Standard for all my reviews: When reviewing products, I always remain objective and honest about the product or service. I always review with information that I feel others would like to know about the product as I always assume what I’m writing will influence for or against the purchase. I always try to go above and beyond surface characteristics and input into quality, value and application. Most importantly, I will always end the review with an answer as to whether I’d purchase the product again which I believe is the most critical question pertaining to the item. To manufacturers: Want me to review your items, just let me know!I was using one of the spring loaded phone mounts from a different manufacturers before it broke. I had planned to simply replace it with the same mount but decided to do a search to see what was available. After reading seeing many different designs and reading a lot of reviews I settled on this Scosche magnetic mount for my large iPhone.I can’t say enough good things about this mount. The magnetic attachment makes mounting and dismounting the large iphone a cinch. Because the neck of the unit is bendable, it’s much easier to place the mount in a less conspicuous/obtrusive spot and bend the arm to your need for maximum viewing. The plates install either on the back of your phone and are strong enough to still hold well even through a thicker case. I use the Spec iPhone case. Even though I did install one of the plates on the phone itself, I also decided to put one on the back of the case since they included it and it fits well. It also does make for a more secure connection to the magnet on the holder. The “hold” is very secure and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever with it. The placement with bending the neck gives me better visibility. I just bought one as a gift as well and will be getting my daughter one too. The suction cup sticks well and they include a small plate that you can use if you can’t suction cup it directly to the surface. The ONLY very minor issue is that there does seem to be a bit more bounce of the phone than the other mount I had but it’s not an issue and is very minor. If you’re looking for a simply but VERY effective mount for your phone in the car or, for that matter, just about anywhere, this is it!

This little magnet works well with my phone case that has a small magnet built in on the back of it. My phone will fall off the magnet if I go over very big bumps, but I think it’s because the magnet that is inside my phone case is not strong enough. Would recommend using the magnets that come in the box for a much better hold. Other than that I’m happy with it

I needed a dash holder for my iphone that works with a pop socket. Sounds simple, right?I would be but my car doesn’t have a good surface to mount a phone holder and I didn’t want to obstruct my air vents with a vent mount. Then, I saw this! Thinking it could work for me, I purchased it.This piece was the perfect size that I could squeeze in between my air vents but angle down to not interfere with vent flow.Since it’s magnetic and I don’t have a magnetic pop socket case, I found on Amazon, of course, a thin magnet made to stick to the top of the pop socket. It’s the same size with no overlap so it’s a seamless look.Together with this dash mount, it’s amazing. I can angle the mount with my phone attached and it’s super sturdy. There’s no spinning, vibrations, or dropping my phone. It’s a magnetic bond is strong! The only thing I will say is that the adhesive that came with the product wasn’t very good. So I replaced it with a 3M double sided strip and voila!

The product works… but the magnetic field is not very strong. however, my Samsung Ultra keeps falling off the device. This time the cover was pulled off and exposed the magnet🧲 4 smaller magnets WOW live and learn. But it does work in the car
