I have several sizes of these “magic arms”. Extremely handy! I use them to position microphones, cameras, lights and accessories easily in almost any configuration, and they operate smoothly and lock well. These come in many sizes and configurations …be sure to not to overload them with weight or leverage they’re not built to take. If you do, they can sag. But that’s no fault of the product, it’s just physics.Great tool if you need one. Great quality, won’t break, won’t wear out.

If you’re looking for a versatile and reliable accessory for your camera rig, the SmallRig Universal Magic Arm with Small Ballhead is an excellent choice. I bought this for more articulation of my small lighting rig and it works great! One of the standout features of the SmallRig Universal Magic Arm is its flexibility. The arm is made up of two articulated joints that can be locked in place with sturdy, ergonomic knobs. This allows you to position your accessories exactly where you need them, whether you’re shooting from a tripod or handheld. Plus, the arm can hold quite a bit making it a great choice for larger accessories or cameras. I currently have my second one holding my cannon m200 as my web cam. (because yes you get two!!)Overall, I would highly recommend the SmallRig Universal Magic Arm with Small Ballhead to anyone looking for a versatile and high-quality camera accessory.

i just received this yesterday and tested it out today. i was only out for about an hour, but i use one of these arms to attach my monitor to my camera cage. at first i thought that some of the reviews were right and that it wouldn’t hold up my hefty 7″ monitor (Viltrox DC-70HD), but after tightening some more it holds up really well. the trick is to tighten the screw that connects to your cage while the arm is in a locked position (so it won’t rotate around the ball joints). this will enable you to securely screw in the arm. im not sure how long these will last, but so far they’re nice and small and convenient for a more compact setup like mine.

Strong and easy to lock

I have many of these because they are so useful. I find that if you take 2 of these and couple them together and add a CLAW on one end and a Camera of any kind on the other I can position it in just about any configuration I need.

Strong enough to attach to a lightstand or boom arm with small lights or a mic. Not experiencing any of the issues other people have listed as long as I keep in mind how the screw threads into the clamp and make sure I tighten it up. I’m able to leave the clamp setup intact for days without any issue.

Can’t go wrong with SmallRig, I have a few of their products and they don’t disappoint. These are well made and lock in place tightly. I’ve used them with my action cam mounted to my motorcycle (Harley engine so a lot of vibration too) and they have not come loose once. I’d buy again.

I didn’t realize these were as small as they would be but they are still very sturdy while holding the Atomos Ninja with a 4400mAh battery in place.I have no complaints about it.
