In anticipation of the solar eclipse, I started looking for sun filters. The one I wanted would take 2 weeks to deliver and that would be after the eclipse, so I started looking around. This was described as fitting a Celestron telescope and I have a different brand. My telescope is a 70mm and the Celestron is 70 mm but I didn’t realize how different the telescopes can be. Luckily it gave the measurements and it seemed like it would fit so I ordered it.It turned out to fit perfectly; however, the weather didn’t cooperate and it was overcast on the day of the eclipse, so I wasn’t able to see how it works. So, if you have a different model, it might fit but just make sure you do the meaurements.

Purchased for the upcoming solar eclipse. Happy to report that it fits my old 60mm Meade refractor telescope. It always many of these old telescopes share dimensions across different brand manufacturers. I ordered the PS60AZ / PS60EQTelescope is #226W60mm diameterF = 700mmI removed the visor and used two pieces of cardboard to create a pinhole sun finder, to aid with aiming and prevent any temptation to look towards the sun.I just finally tested it. Sun looks a nice orange color through it.The filter looks almost identical to the stock cap with the smaller aperture to block the heat. Before we got the filter we did a fun project where we projected an image of the sun in a cut out box by removing the eyepiece altogether and using the smaller aperture on the cap.

Works great for viewing the sun safely with my 70AZ. Seems overpriced for what you get though… just a plastic cap with the same kind of solar film as those cardboard eclipse glasses. For $25 I’d feel better if the filter was made of plastic. The film works, but it’s cheap and fragile. One accidental bump and you’d likely ruin it.

Was trying to find a solar filter for my beginner Carson JC-1000 telescope and couldn’t find one by Carson but thought I would try this and it fits perfectly. Just be sure to quality check your filter as soon as it arrives. My first delivered had a bend/crease right in the middle so taking photos through this would not be good. Got a replacement quickly that is defect-free.

Great finder scope to quickly and accurately align the equatorial mount, if you can see polaris with the naked eye. I use it with the help of smart phone app that shows polaris pisition relative to CNP in real-time. The whole process takes few minutes and gives accurate and reliable alignment to record 3 minutes subs free of star trailing without preforming drift alignment. This is more than i need for deep sky photography given the light pollution of the suburbs. Actually images wiuld washout if i record more than 3 minutes ar ISO 800. Unless you want to take much longer subs, this is the best tool. Highly recommend for short subs astrophotography, not really needed for visual use.

Well, I have good news. I looked at the sun through a telescope and my retinas are not currently seared like a tuna steak. This filter did exactly what it’s supposed to do, thank goodness, and even allowed me a stunning view of the partial eclipse.

I bought this last minute hoping it would fit me telescope, but it didn’t; however, I was able to use it just fine without a telescope

A little filing with a fingernail file on the 4 ridges inside the filter housing and you’ve got solar binoculars! It’s a tight fit, which is good, backed up by the 3 thumb screws.Celestron Skymaster 20×80 binoculars.
