I bought this printer for my elderly mother. She just needed something basic. But the biggest criteria was that it needed to be narrow enough to fit on a shelf in her tv cabinet. This was the smallest one we could find, and it fits perfectly. It connected easily to WiFi. It also had to have a phone app to print from the phone, which this does, and it works. It works fine for simple document copying, and printing. And it’s done ok printing a few snapshots. It has a special paper try for photo paper.

Two years ago I looked for a single function printer. The only one I could find was a Canon G5020 and bought it. A BIG Mistake! It was a nightmare to print anything. The WiFi never worked well. Bought a USB direct connect cable. It worked for two weeks and just quit working at all. So I found and bought the Epson XP. For the price it’s the best printer I’ve owned. And the scan functions have options that will work great for me! User functions are straight forward. Quality is just plain great. Thank you Epson for a great printer at a great price!!

Installed flawlessly and prints great.4 other brands were a nightmare via I pad. 5-6 hours talking to India. Sent them all back! Get the epson designed for I pad and your troubles are over!

After four years of faithful service, my old XP-6100 finally quit. But I was so happy with it, I bought it again! Inexpensive, yet the quality of photos is fabulous! LOVE IT!!!!

The Epson XP-6100 does a fine job and I appreciate how it’s not overloaded with crap features – like an automatic document feeder. But if you’re an Android user you may wonder why the XP-6100 will fail to print with the app reporting “printer not available”.Here’s what happened and how to fix it:On your phone or other Android device is an app called Epson Print Enabler. It’s essential for printing to an Epson device. Like any Android app Print Enabler will be periodically updated. Until you open the Enabler app and agree to the license terms, the printer will be unavailable. So be warned; every couple of months Epson Print Enabler will be updated and your printing is nada until you accept the updated license terms.

I had the printer before this one XP-6000 and had ink on hand for that one that fits this new one. So I ordered the XP-6100 to replace the XP-6000. Both printers are little work horses!!!

I have had this printer for about 5 weeks now and I don’t normally print that much. I needed to replace my 15 year old color laser, but I just needed something that would print good clean documents when I need them and perhaps a photo or card every now and then. This little printer seemed like it would fill the role so I ordered it.Perhaps I am a little more technically minded than other folks, but I had no trouble setting this up at all. My biggest problem is remembering to pull out the return tray (it won’t print unless you do) but it always tells you why it’s not printing and even shows you little pictures. I have printed B/W documents, colored documents, documents with pictures and graphics, envelopes, even items on business card stock with photos on them! I have used different weighted papers, photo paper and even normal index cards in the unit. The quality is more than respectable and I have had zero issues with it.Two things to note with my review; I have it connected to my system via USB, I did/have not connected to it via Wi-Fi so I can not speak to the setup or performance of that aspect of the printer. Second, I just want to mention that with all I have printed (which includes a few 8×10 Pictures, I am still on the original ink cartridges that came with the printer so it seems as though it is reasonably easy on ink for people who just have casual printing needs. I would (and have) recommend this product to a friend seeking a simple low priced printer that just works well.

First, this is a fine printer, and will be perfect for my modest home printing needs. With the exception of the ink cartridge install, the quick start User Guide is somewhat brief and vague, and caused me several hours of grief trying to figure out how to set up the printer. Epson’s 334 page very detailed User’s Guide filled in all the gaps nicely. I initially set the printer to network with my Ipad via a wifi range extender, but after many repeated attempts, was unable to get the printer past the “Out of paper, load paper tray” mode. I could print nozzle checks and copy documents all day long–it didn’t seem to be the printer, but perhaps some glitch in the latest IOS 13.6.1 Airprint software. I even tried 3 Airprint ‘clone’ apps from the App Store, which didn’t solve the problem either. As seen in the screenshot of Epson’s Wireless Network Settings instructions (pg. 42 of the User Guide), there are two choices: Wifi, which is recommended, and which I couldn’t get the printer to ever print properly, and the second choice, Wifi direct. I tried Wifi direct on a whim, and lo and behold, it worked like a champ. It feels fantastic to finally be out of the woods, as I was very close to returning the printer several different times during this rather frustrating and yet in the end, satisfying experience. I’ve found I always learn a great deal about a product or process when I have to troubleshoot it, so while I’m no expert on the Epson XP-6100, I sure know a lot more about it now, than when I first took it out of the box. Cheers! woody, Guam Island
