Today’s Wordle is one of those that could go either way. Some people don’t seem to be struggling too much, getting it in three or four guesses, while other are getting down to the wire, requiring all six guesses or losing their streaks.
It all really comes down to those first couple of guesses today, and actually is one of those rare Wordles where eliminating letters is better than getting them, due to a few very common letters being included in today’s word. Those who have struggled with today’s Wordle so far seem to, generally speaking, have more greens than those who haven’t. Just take a look my colleague and my guesses side by side.
So, if you’ve found yourself in the same predicament as Ben here, read on for some hints to help you get the answer to today’s Wordle before you lose your streak.

So, hopefully the above hints have narrowed it down enough for you. There’s also another, far more obvious hint on this page as well. But, if you’ve missed that and are still struggling with those pesky first few letters, read on for the answer. It’s below this image, so here’s your last warning to turn back if you don’t want the answer to today’s Wordle just yet.
So, today’s Wordle answer is… SHAWL. An item of clothing that isn’t particularly common any more, this might not be the first word starting with S, T and A that you might think of. And it’s thanks to that W that you might have found it easier with “worse” guesses early on. It just goes to show that eliminating letters can be just as important in Wordle.
Hopefully your streak is still going strong and you’ll back for some more Wordle fun tomorrow. In the meantime, go give Heardle a go, one of our favorite Wordle alternatives. Today’s ruined my one-second streak and I’m not happy about it, let me know if you’ve done any better… in Wordle or Heardle!
