On Wednesday, March 16, at 1:00 Central Time, mattress manufacturer Corsicana Mattress will celebrate the grand opening of its new 165,000-square-foot facility with Corsicana executives and team joined by local political, civic and business leaders. The renovated and redesigned facility will house the company’s domestic boxed bed manufacturing and employ 350 workers at full capacity.
“Corsicana’s decision to select LaPorte County, Indiana has been a genuine game changer for the central area of our county. We are appreciative for every partner stepping up to the plate to make this project a reality in Pinola,” stated commissioner Sheila Matias, president of the LaPorte county board of commissioners. “To bring life back into this large property and bring 350 new jobs is really significant. We’re proud to welcome Corsicana to Indiana and look forward to continuing our productive and supportive relationship.”
Located at 755 S 500 West in La Porte, Ind, the company is expected to produce more than 1,500 domestically made boxed beds per day which will help reduce wait times and implement same-day shipping. Corsicana manufactures five brands – NightsBridge, Early Bird, Renue, American Bedding and Sleep Inc. while the new location improves the company’s proximity to
bedding suppliers and logistics companies.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating the grand opening of our new plant. With the help of local, regional, and state agencies, we have created a state-of-the-art boxed bed facility which will enable us to expedite delivery of product to our retailers and consumers around the nation,” said Michael Thompson, president and CEO of Corsicana Mattress. “Our team has worked hard to ensure the facility is appropriately equipped and ready for production.”
In addition to the new facility in LaPorte County, Indiana, the company has recently opened a new 3,200-square-foot sourcing facility in North Carolina, and broken ground on its new 376,000-square-foot headquarters in the company’s hometown of Corsicana, Texas. The addition of the Indiana factory and convenience of the location are expected to enable the company to speed products from suppliers and delivery to retailers faster and more efficiently.
“This is certainly a great day for LaPorte County. We have always boasted about our premier location central to the Midwest, and by celebrating Corsicana’s ribbon-cutting today we are saying thank you to the teams that made it possible,” added Randall Novak, LaPorte county council president.
“We have been taking a strategic look at all our manufacturing facilities to create a dynamic national system that is focused on operational efficiency, quality and faster delivery to our customers,” said James Booth, COO at Corsicana. “Our Indiana crew has been working diligently these past few months to recruit and train a fantastic group of local associates who together are a formidable team delivering for our customers every day.”
