Lighting and accessories manufacturer Godox recently introduced five new LED fixtures. These include the Godox SL300II and four budget-friendly lights belonging to the new Litemons LA Series. All products are now available for pre-order on B&H, starting at $219 for the LA Series and going up to $499 for the SL300II.
The entry-level LED market is quickly getting overpopulated with new models and brands popping up every other week. Lately, SmallRig made the first huge step into this market segment by releasing their RC120D and RC120B. Meanwhile, Weeylite introduced the Ninja 20.
Godox has become a well-established brand over the years by offering quality products at a very competitive price. They are now expanding their offering by introducing not one, but five new fixtures. So let’s take a closer look at the new Godox SL300II and Litemons LA Series.
Godox SL300II: daylight-balanced 300W fixture
The Godox SL300II is a Bowens-mount daylight-balanced (5600K ± 200) LED fixture. It joins the previously introduced 150W and 200W models in the SL II series, providing a more powerful option.
Godox claims a CRI 96+ and TLCI 97+ rating for this product. The light is completely dimmable from 0 to 100% of its intensity scale. According to the manufacturer, the unit can output 99,300 lux at a distance of 1 meter when using the included standard reflector and 12,900 lux with the bare bulb.
This is a considerable amount of power for a product in this price range. For reference, the bare bulb of the Aputure LS C300d II outputs 11,000 lux at the same distance. If you want to dive deeper into the photometric measurements of this light, here’s the complete data provided by the company.
Like most LED lights these days, the SL300II comes with 8 built-in effects. This list includes 3 flash, 3 storm, TV, and broken bulb effects. All controls, including the on/off switch and dimming knob, are accessible from a simple panel on the back of the unit.
A U-shaped yoke with a 330° freedom of movement facilitates rigging operations. Moreover, the optional RC-A6 controller allows for complete remote control of all settings. However, it doesn’t seem like the SL300II is compatible with any smartphone app.
Unfortunately, it looks like the fixture can only draw power from the 3-pin power cord. Finally, the light is equipped with a built-in cooling system as well as a Silent Mode for occasions when audio recording plays a significant role.

Godox Litemons LA Series: daylight and bi-color
Along with the SL300II, Godox also introduced a new series of budget-friendly lighting products. It includes four Bowens-mount fixtures: the Litemons LA150D, LA150Bi, LA200D, and LA200Bi. Of course, while “D” stands for daylight, “Bi” indicates a bi-color LED light (2800 – 6500K).
While the SL300II is aimed at the prosumer market, the perfect target for the Litemons LA Series is content creators looking for an affordable, more compact lighting solution. Despite the smaller form factor, this fixture should still provide a decent output. For example, Godox claims that the Litemons LA200D can output 101,000 lux at 1 meter using the included reflector.
These four lights come packed with the same 8 lighting effects of the SL300II. However, the bi-color models offer three additional effects, including Candle, Fire, and Firework.
A basic rear control panel grants access to all knobs and controls. Moreover, unlike the SL300II, the four lights in the Litemons LA Series are fully compatible with the Godox Light APP.
