Details have been released about the Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga Character Collection, essentially a Season Pass for the upcoming Lego game collection.
When the Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga release date finally arrives on April 5, 2022, fans will be able to play as a large collection of classic Star Wars characters from the nine saga films. However, this list will grow ever larger as time passes, with familiar faces being added from elsewhere in Star Wars canon. This is where the Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga Season Pass, AKA the Character Collection, comes in.
Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga Character Collection Packs
From information released by the teams behind the Lego Star Wars game so far, it looks as though the Collection Packs will be available to purchase individually, as well as part of the larger Season Pass.
By buying the Character Collection, gamers will get the first six Character Packs as they come out. Without it, you still don’t have to miss out on the characters from your favorite Star Wars series or film. So far, the first few Character Packs have been revealed, and we’ll take a look at those below, but as we explore further down, there’s still loads of room for more.
The Mandalorian Season 1 Character Pack
At the game’s full launch on April 5, 2022, The Mandalorian Season 1 Character Pack will be available for those who have already purchased the Character Collection, and as a standalone purchase. The first pack will include the following recognisable faces from the show’s first season:
- The Mandalorian (with a non-playable Grogu by his side)
- Greef Karga
- Cara Dune
- IG-11
- Kuiil
Solo: A Star Wars Story Character Pack
Also released on launch day, April 5, 2022, the Solo: A Star Wars Story Character Pack will give you the chance to play six characters from the Han Solo spin-off film.
- Young Han Solo – of course
- Young Chewbacca
- Young Lando Calrissian
- Qi’ra
- Tobias Beckett
- Enfys Nest
The Classic Characters Pack
While available from launch day for players with early access, The Classic Characters Pack will be officially released on April 19, 2022, and will feature some of the most famous faces from the Star Wars saga.
- Luke Skywalker
- Princess Leia
- Han Solo
- Darth Vader
- Lando Calrissian
The Trooper Pack
The Trooper Pack will also be available to those with early access from April 5th, but will not be available to everyone else until Star Wars Day, AKA May 4, 2022. This pack will include:
- Death Trooper
- Incinerator Trooper
- Range Trooper
- Imperial Shore Tropper
- Mimban Stormtrooper
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Character Pack
For fans of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a pack including seven characters from the 2016 spin-off film will be available from April 19, 2022. The playable characters from Rogue One are:
- Jyn Erso
- Bodhi Rook
- Cassian Andor
- K-2SO
- Chirrut Imwe
- Baze Malbu
- Director Krennic
The Mandalorian Season 2 Character Pack
Then, Star Wars Day will bring another two packs for the first time. One will be The Mandalorian Season 2, including:
- Ahsoka Tano
- Boba Fett
- Bo Katan
- Fennec Shand
- Moff Gideon
The Bad Batch Character Pack
The third pack to be released on May 4, 2022, AKA Star Wars Day, will include five characters from the Bad Batch series.
- Hunter
- Wrecker
- Tech
- Crosshair
- Echo
The future of the Lego Star Wars Character Collection Pass
That’s a lot of playable characters. And that’s on top of those earned through playing the game. But no doubt there will be many more to come. If you’ve played previous Lego Star Wars games from the original Complete Saga, you’ll no doubt know that there were a huge number of unlockable characters as you progressed. With Star Wars canon being even vaster now than it was back in 2007, there’s so much room for Lucasfilm Games and co. to add hundreds more missing characters.
Looking at what we’ve got above, there is of course the third season of The Mandalorian in the works which could easily be worked into another Character Pack. And, speaking of spin-off shows, there’s The Book of Boba Fett and the Obi-Wan series which have yet to be announced as Lego Star Wars game Character Packs. Getting even deeper into the vast world of Star Wars lore, there’s a chance we could see the likes of Clone Wars and Rebels worked into future packs as well. Best start saving, then…
How much is the Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga Character Collection?
It seems no price has been officially revealed for the Character Collection at this time, but it is available as part of the Deluxe Edition game bundle.
Those who pre-order either the digital or physical Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Deluxe Edition will get the Character Collection included. Those who purchase the digital copy will then also receive a digital-exclusive classic Obi-Wan Kenobi playable character. If you prefer to be able to hold the game in your hands, then the physical Deluxe Edition will come with the exclusive Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk Lego Minifigure.
