If you were born in the 90s, there’s only one thing that comes to mind when you hear the brand Nokia. That’s right, I’m talking about the 3310. While the company was renowned for releasing near-indestructible phones, the Finnish company is dipping their toe into the display sector with a brand new lineup of QLED smart TVs.
That’s right, the brand that brought us endless joy with snake and that weird ringtone maker app thing is trying their luck with a budget-tailored series of TVs that look very inviting.
With that being said, here’s everything you need to know if you’re in the market for one of Nokia’s cool new QLED displays.
Nokia QLED TV release date: What we know so far
At the time of writing this, the new lineup of TVs is already on sale in Europe. You can head on over to the Nokia.streamview site where listings are available.
Very little information is available so far regarding a US release date, however, wouldn’t be surprised if the TVs were available by Q2 2022.
Nokia QLED TV specifications
As far as specifications go, the Nokia QLED series doesn’t look like it’ll blast us away. After all, the new QLED panels are set to hit the budget end of the market, so that’s no real surprise.
The first thing to discuss is that tricky little QLED panel the company says it’s using. In fact, the panel is a normal LCD screen (not LED) that features a Quantum dot film layer to produce the extra peak luminance it requires – similar to that of Samsung and TCL.
Additionally, while Nokia has released TVs in the past, this will be the first to feature in the Android sector. That means users will be able to gain access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube – alongside a tonne of additional apps through the Google Play store.
Performance
Looking at performance, gamers shouldn’t get their hopes up with this TV. It only features the HDMI 2.0 interface (not HDMI 2.1) meaning it won’t be able to support 4K @120Hz gameplay. That said, the QLED TVs will all feature a built-in subwoofer for additional bass and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. The company also states that each TV will feature the same 8GB storage which will allow users to record live TV.

While this TV won’t go as big as some of the more premium TVs in today’s market – there are several unusual variants that lie within the series.

Nokia QLED TV price
For those interested in the new Nokia QLED TV, prices will start from around 650 Euros for the smallest 43″ model. As always, prices will increase with size, with the largest 70 inch TV setting you back around 1,600 euros – not terrible when compared to many of the market’s leading alternatives.
