Xiaomi has hinted at the imminent rollout of the MIUI 13 in India, after confirming that the update will be available for global models outside China. The Chinese tech giant’s latest MIUI 13 Android skin will be rolling out for a myriad of smartphones outside the company’s home country. However, Xiaomi is currently mum on its plan to roll out the update for smartphones in India. Nevertheless, the popular smartphone manufacturer is set to launch the Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11S, along with the Redmi Smart Band Pro in the country on February 9.
There is a possibility that Xiaomi could shed more light on the MIUI 13 rollout schedule for India, and confirm the update’s availability for the Indian consumers at the impending launch event. The upcoming MIUI 13 boasts an impressive array of new widgets, live wallpapers, and more. Aside from that, it enhances performance. Furthermore, the MIUI 13 will reportedly come with improved algorithms to enable better management of the system resource, longer battery life, and better multitasking.
Xiaomi Teases MIUI 13 For Indian Consumers
Taking to its official Twitter account on February 1, Xiaomi shared a teaser poster that shows older MIUI numerals on phones displays. Aside from that, the teaser has the text, “It’s 13 o’clock! Guess what’s coming?” Last week, Xiaomi announced that the MIUI 13 update has started rolling out for the first set of devices, as part of the updates’ global rollout. To recall, the MiUI 13 global rollout schedule surfaced online in January this year. Initially, the company announced the Indian models will not be eligible for receiving the updates.

Xiaomi is likely to divulge details about the devices that will be receiving the MIUI 13 update in India soon. Indian owners of Xiaomi smartphones are waiting with bated breath for details about the update schedule. In the meantime, the Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and some other global devices have already received the MIUI 13 update. In addition to these devices, the Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 have received the MIUI 13 update. Likewise, the Redmi Note 11 series will debut with the MIUI 13 operating system out-of-the-box.
MIUI 13 Key Features
To recall, the MIUI 13 was announced in China back in December 2021. Last week, the Chinese company announced the MIUI 13 Global, which boasts a myriad of impressive changes. These include Smart Balance, Atomized Memory, Liquid Storage, and Focused Algorithms. Furthermore, Xiaomi claims that these features deliver a superior performance and user experience even after two years of usage. Moreover, MIUI 13 has a new sidebar that enables users to open apps in a floating window.
As mentioned, the MIUI 13 Global will bring a slew of new widgets. Regrettably, these widgets will be available only in specific regions. In other words, it is still unclear whether or not the MIUI 13 Indian ROM will come with Widgets. The company is gearing up to roll out the MIUI 13 Global ROM for multiple devices in the coming days. In fact, the company has already started MIUI 13 Global ROM pilot testing for some devices. However, Xiaomi hasn’t divulged details about starting the MIUI 13 Pilot testing program in India.
Nevertheless, the company is likely to start a pilot testing program in India soon. This will probably kick off after it announces the MIUI 13 rollout schedule for the country.
