This Sweet Potato Swirl Bread is so easy to make and absolutely delicious! This bread is wonderful for breakfast if you have guests and family will love it, too. The topping and the glaze really makes this bread good. If you do make it in advance you can always add the glaze before you serve it. You might also like our recipe for pineapple, blueberry bread.
Sweet Potato Bread+ Topping + Glaze Ingredients Needed:
All-purpose flour
Baking soda
Butter
Brown sugar
Sour cream
Eggs
Sweet potatoes
Vanilla extract
Ground cinnamon
Nutmeg
Nuts, pecans or walnuts (optional)
Powdered sugar
Milk
Vanilla extract
I use a fresh sweet potato in this recipe but you could easily used canned. If freezes well, can be reheated in the microwave, keeps for several days in a cool place or can be refrigerated. This bread is really good and wonderful with a cup of coffee or hot tea. It would be a great addition to any brunch or to enjoy during the holidays.

Sweet Potato Swirl Bread
This bread has wonderful reviews and is always a hit. Easy to make and delicious with coffee.
Servings: 1 loaf
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 stick butter or 1/2 cup or 8 tablespoons melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup cooked mashed sweet potatoes
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Swirl for Batter:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped nuts pecans or walnuts (optional)
Glaze for Cooked Bread
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk more or less
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whisk together flour and baking soda in a bowl and set aside. Combine melted butter, brown sugar, sour cream, eggs, mashed sweet potatoes and vanilla extract in a large bowl mixing with a spoon. Add flour mixture to sweet potato mixture and stir with spoon to combine. Spray a 9 x 5 bread pan with cooking spray and add mixture to pan. Add swirl
