Realme 9 Pro+ will have a limited Free Fire edition

[ad_1]

Early this week, Realme finally took the wraps off its Realme 9 Pro series. The Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+ reached the market to join the already released Realme 9i. The duo of “premium” mid-range smartphones boast compelling specifications in a bid to expurgate the ghost of past generations. For the first time in two years, the brand has changed the chipset inside of this handset. However, it also brought a couple of good features and adjustments. On top of that, we have a fancy design with a color-changing variant. If this variant isn’t fancy enough for you, there is something else to look at. The Realme 9 Pro+ will get a Limited Free Fire Edition.

Of course, this variant won’t be the cup of tea for those that dislike the popular battle royale game. However, those who enjoy the free fire and also enjoy yellowish paints will certainly enjoy this variant. The company announced the dedicated Free Fire edition shortly after the Realme 9 Pro+ announcement. Unfortunately, the device is not yet available for purchase and there is not much info about what exactly this variant is bringing. Anyway, we expect a different paint job with yellow color and an exclusive theme for the Realme UI 3.0.

We assume that the handset will resemble the “Bumblebee” colorway “Racing Yellow” brought with the Realme GT 5G. After all, the announcement’s poster has two predominant colors – Yellow and Black – therefore we expect something close to this.

Realme 9 Pro+ key specs

Apart from the unique design, the Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire Edition shouldn’t differ from the original variant in terms of specifications. If you missed the launch, we can shed some light on this device’s internals. The Realme 9 Pro+ packs a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. The panel comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and is capable of reading your heart rate data. That’s a first in the industry, at least in my memory.

Under the hood, the device brings the excellent MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC which boasts two ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz. The device brings the Mali-G68 MC4 which should be enough to handle demanding games. The device has up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. We assume, that the Free Fire edition will be based on this top variant.

In terms of optics, there is a triple-camera array with a 50 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide, and 2 MP macro snapper. One of this device’s highlights is Optical Image Stabilization which isn’t common among mid-range smartphones.

The device draws its powers from a 4,500 mAh battery with 60W fast charging. It runs Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 on top.

We don’t know if this variant will be exclusive to China or will make its way to other markets. It would be ironic to see this version in India just after the ban of 54 apps that included Garena Free Fire.
