This peaches and cream ice cream works so well because you’re going to make a quick peach sauce and then swirl it into creamy vanilla ice cream. The result is a swirled sweet peach ice cream with tender chunks of frozen peaches that are perfect in every bite.
Peach Ice Cream
You’ll need the following ingredients to make this recipe:
- heavy cream
- whole milk
- sugar
- ground cinnamon (optional)
- kosher salt
- vanilla extract
- peach sauce
To make the peach sauce, combine peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously while the sugar melts and the mixture comes to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for about 8-10 minutes, until the peaches are soft. Use a wooden spoon to smash the fruit a bit as it is cooking.
Remove from the heat and cool completely before dividing the sauce in half and placing both portions in the refrigerator to chill until needed.
Peach Ice Cream Recipe
Whisk together the cream, milk, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Pour into the ice cream machine and freeze according to the manufacturer’s directions.
Scoop the churned ice cream into a freezer container, adding a spoonful or two of the chilled peach sauce along with each scoop of the ice cream.
Swirl lightly with a knife and place in the freezer until ready to serve. Serve with the remaining peach sauce on top.
