Shuckle is a very interesting Pokémon. The little Bug and Rock-type Pokémon kind of resembles a turtle, though it’s obviously not given its bug typing. It’s not a strong Pokémon, and it doesn’t evolve into anything more useful. However, it has one of the best defense stats in the whole of Pokémon GO. It’s just so weak in CP and Attack that its defense doesn’t really do much to change its, well, uselessness. Sorry, little buddy.
So what use is Shuckle in Pokémon GO?
Really, Shuckle’s only use in Pokémon GO is as a Dex filler for completionists. It is one of the rarer Pokémon in the game, not really appearing in the wild very often – unless as part of special events – and it hasn’t yet been the subject of a Community Day. So at least Trainers aren’t completely fed up of little Shuckle just yet.
Can Shuckle be shiny in Pokémon GO?
And even if you have got a Shuckle, you might be looking to catch a shiny version of the Mold Pokémon. While it is rarer still, yes, Shuckle can be shiny in Pokémon GO. The shiny variant was introduced as part of the Pokémon GO SAfari Zone event in 2019, so has been in the game for some time. However, due to its rarity even in its normal form, shiny Shuckle still evades some Trainers.
How to catch shiny Shuckle?
The best way to get a Shuckle at the moment is by challenging it in a Raid. The Pokémon is a current Three-star Raid Boss in Pokémon GO, so encountering one after defeating it will result in a relatively strong (for Shuckle) Pokémon, which could even be shiny.
As part of the Lunar New Year event in Pokémon GO, Shuckle can also hatch from 7km eggs. The egg would need to have been obtained during the event (so between February 1st and February 7th, 2022), but can be hatched at any time.
