Apple’s new iPhone SE reportedly has 4GB of RAM, 33% more than its predecessor

As you may already know, Apple unveiled its newest cheapest iPhone yesterday, the iPhone SE (2022). The new model looks exactly like the old one, but it’s packing Apple’s A15 Bionic chip under the hood – that’s the exact same SoC found in the iPhone 13.

And it’s not the only part it shares with the iPhone 13, according to a new report. The new iPhone SE also has 4GB of RAM. That’s 1GB more than its predecessor from 2020, and once again matches the iPhone 13. The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max still have more – 6GB – but 4GB is quite a lot in Apple phone land.

This information is sourced from strings within the Xcode 13.3 RC that Apple outed following its Peek Performance event yesterday. The same type of Xcode strings have accurately revealed RAM amounts in several iPhone generations in the past.

The new iPhone SE will be up for pre-order this Friday, on March 11, and will become available on March 18.
