Diana M –
Connects to my GT-3WP easily and worked just fine for programming with CHIRP. No complaints. Does all I need it to do.
Brandon –
Did exactly what it’s supposed to do with extra screw to hold to radio
Tommie –

This is a true baofeng product it’s not an off-brand it works good I’m on my radio I’ve got nine handsets this works on three of them the other ones use the regular cord so if you need to get this cord for your radios buy it don’t buy the off brand
Cole –
Got this cable for my UX-XR and it worked great I could use CHIRP to program pre set channels into the radio.

This cable does not have the Prolific chip inside even though it has a sticker saying it does. It has the same updated chip as the 2-pin Baofeng cables, and Windows automatically installs the drivers when connected. Prolific was a pain tracking down legit drivers from sketchy sources, but this one just works.Tip, make sure you download your settings from your radio in CHIRP first, then it will allow you to upload to the radio. I’ve programmed a ton of UV5Rs, and it wasn’t letting me select my GT3-WP until I finally downloaded the image from the radio. Simple CHIRP stuff, but it had me thinking the cable was bad until I realized I was doing it wrong.

I bought this to use with my Baofeng UV-9R PLUS.Short story – it is the right cable.. buy it.My tablet PC is a vintage unit by today’ standards. It is a Dell Venue 11 Pro running Windows 8.1, 32 bit operating system ,x64 based processor, Intel Atom Z3770 CPU. It automatically found the cable when attached to the USB port. I did not use the included mini CD.I downloaded CHIRP , my tablet only has one USB port so that came up in CHIRP. You may have to identify the proper port # – I didn’t need to.. BUT, you will have to tell Chirp the manufacturer (Vendor = Baofeng) and model of the radio (Model= UV-9R) or it will not see it. Once I did that, Chirp was able to read my radio and I saved the original setup file to my PC. Then I started playing with the features and loading different setups to my radio. The down side: a mere flesh wound… the cable did come with a screw to fasten it to the radio. However, the screw is not retained in its hole on the cable. The radio’s dust cover screw is retained. This is a minor annoyance as it is a test of agility to get that screw in place. The fix:The screw has a deep, countersunk recess on the cable. I fashioned a small, snug fitting rubber o-ring from a data cable that I then fit into the recess after the screw was in place. I placed the screw in its hole then pressed the ‘o-ring’ over the screw. This allows the screw to be turned, but it is retained in its place when the cord is removed from the radio. To ensure the o-ring stays in place, a light drop of rosin flux was used on the outer edge of the o-ring before pressing in place. This added some extra sticky to it’s mating surface against the screw countersink wall. All is well in radio land 😊

It JUST works. Isnt that refreshing? Not much to say more than that A++
