These Apple Fritters will quickly become a family favorite! We love to make these in the Fall of the year, but they are good year round. Delicious with a glaze but you can easily just sprinkle powdered sugar on them too. Spend a day at your local orchard picking apples and come home and spoil your family with these delicious fritters.
Apple fritters ingredients needed:
Apples
All-purpose flour
Brown sugar
Baking powder
Salt
Ground cinnamon
Eggs
Butter
Milk
Vanilla flavoring
Oil for frying
I found that this recipe made about 8-10 fritters. I also added this powdered sugar glaze to them, which I think is the best way to enjoy them. The glaze is so easy and so good and just adds to the fritters.
I cook my fritters in hot oil, all stoves vary, so you will have to determine which works best for you. However if your fritters burn before they are done in the middle your oil is to hot.
People ask if you can use pie filling.. I haven’t tried it, but this follower did and left this comment:
“Made these for my husband, me and one of our sons, I did use apple pie filling and they were so very awesome!!! We didn’t have but a few left….had to have a nap after……thank you so much, enjoying your site so much!!” – Linda

Serve these for breakfast with a variety of toppings such as honey, powdered sugar, caramel sauce, syrup or whatever your family likes. We love to sprinkle with powdered sugar and drizzle with honey
Servings: 10 fritters
- 2 large apples I have used all kinds of apples for this recipe peeled, cored and chopped or cut in chunks
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine melted
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
- Oil for frying
-
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl with a whisk. Set aside. In a small bowl combine milk, eggs, vanilla, butter and beat with whisk. Combine two bowls pouring the smaller into the larger and mixing well
-
Peel, core, and cut up apples and fold into the batter. Pour enough oil into skillet to make about 1/4 inch. Heat oil and drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil. (I use an ice cream scoop). Cook until brown on one side, flip and continue frying until both sides are good and brown.
-
Remove and drain on paper towels. Makes about 8-10 fritters depending on what size you make them.
