These easy chocolate peanut butter bars are a good idea anytime! They are simple to put together and SO good. These bars are a bit different in that they include quick-cooking oats. The texture is delicious! They make the perfect afternoon snack or after-dinner sweet. If you like chocolate and peanut butter then I think you’ll really enjoy them.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars Ingredients Needed:
Butter
White granulated sugar
Brown sugar
Egg
Peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
Vanilla extract
All-purpose flour
Salt
Baking soda
Quick-cooking oat, uncooked
Chocolate chips
Powdered sugar
Evaporated milk or regular milk
Recipe Notes: you can use crunchy or smooth peanut butter in this recipe. If you want to switch it up, you could easily use white chocolate chips. You could also add nuts.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
These easy bars are a good idea any time. If you like chocolate and peanut butter, you’ll love them!
Servings: 12 servings
- 1/2 cup butter or 8 tablespoons or 1 stick softened
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup peanut butter crunchy or smooth
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats uncooked
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Topping Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 to 4 tablespoons evaporated milk or regular milk
- 1/4 cup peanut butter

Cream together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, peanut butter and vanilla extract in a bowl with mixer. Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda and uncooked oats in another bowl.

Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture and mix. Spread in a 9 x 9 sprayed or greased baking dish. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and spread chocolate chips over top. Then add topping.
