Infinix and Tecno are two Transsion Holdings companies as well as Itel. The two first brands are making efforts to expand their presence in international markets, and the latest move from them is to bring 5G to more cost-effective ranges. We saw Tecno launching its Tecno Pova 5G in some countries with the excellent MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC. Now, Infinix is gearing up to reveal its very first 5G-ready smartphone, which will be called Infinix Zero 5G.
Infinix has already confirmed it’s working on a 5G smartphone. A few weeks ago, we saw this device’s specifications. Now, Infinix came to the public to confirm some of the key features coming with this handset. The upcoming Infinix 5G smartphone will pack with the “MemFusion” feature. This isn’t the first time we hear about this particular feature. Yesterday, Tecno unveiled its Tecno Pova Neo in India and this device comes with this very same feature. For starters, “MemFusion” stands as the company’s virtual RAM memory feature.
Infinix Zero 5G to bring MemFusion RAM extension
As you might wonder, MemFusion is just the way Infinix and Tecno have chosen to call Virtual RAM feature. This particular feature extends one smartphone’s RAM amount, or at least, serves as a relief for the physical memory. Some of the apps store their data in a portion of your internal storage to bring relief to the physical RAM that keeps running active tasks, once you re-open the previous activity, the RAM will take the info back from the storage. The only downside of this feature is that internal storage is slower than RAM, however, this may not be critical on smartphones that have very fast storage.
The upcoming Infinix 5G device will offer the option to extend RAM by 2 GB, 3 GB, or 5G. To enable this feature when launched, users can go to Setting > Special Function > MemFusion. Once this is enabled, it needs a restart. As per the company’s insights, with the MemFusion feature the number of apps that the Infinix Zero Series will run increases from 9 to 20.
